So I watched The Hobbit.Thorin because friend inspired me and we like him.
I think with my friend that Thorin hates a lot of things but he is still a badass.
Thorin is a great character, yep that's all.

And again, all it takes to completely change Thorin's mindset and personality is a pep talk from Bilbo.
I mean, Bilbo didn't use the Snowflakes of Purity, or the Holy Rainbow, or the Penance Stare, or the Moon Healing Escalation. He just gave him a pep talk.
Is Bilbo that good that he can completely change Thorin's personality just with a pep talk?

Clearly that was what Peter Jackson and Hollywood crew wanted to show.
And I think it was easier for them to show it like that to fit as much as possible topics in the movie that THEY come up with
in typical length Hollywood production for each potential cinema spectator. ( especially for people who never had a contact with The Hobbit book )

Well, what with the catfight between Thorin and Thranduil, the entire interactions of Smaug, and the re-introduction of Legolas . . . I'd say the only thing the film would be missing to create a fangirl implosion that goes completely supernova is just one element . . . Loki!
