Monster Nurse Yuukai.I created her last year and I thought it was time she made a comeback...
EDIT: She is missing her eyebrows and her tentacle suckers, they were on a layer I forgot to export... whoops...

I did indeed, huge difference a year can make eh?
When I was done the inks I thought I should do a black and white test of how I want the colours to sort of work together and this is what came out, I even simulated those little dot thingies on the background (like they have in comics).
Anyway, I felt it's high time I started developing characters that I've created in the past.
And yes, she is quite babe-a-licious (for a monster, that is)

If August is considered anime month, then what would September bring about, or would I have to

I did the pencil work about a month ago and finished it up on the tablet yesterday and then I spent about three or four hours working on the line art.
I'm glad so many of my friends are responding with comments on this. I can't create "normal" characters for some reason and so I know I'll scare off people with weirdness like this...

Her story began about 10 years ago as a doodle, I had been watching some horror anime and she kinda just came to mind.
Later, about four years ago, I was surfing the web and found some other artist who had done something similar. I was quite surprised that someone else had thought of an anime nurse with a reptillian body, tentacles coming out her back and dragony fins on her head, it got me excited and I drew an updated version and buried the sketch somewhere.
Last year I moved into my new condo and found a big pile of my old crappy sketches, a lot of people had been bugging me to do some original character work and so I took the sketch I had done as a reference and created this . The toughest bit was choosing a name for her, I went through a bunch of names I ended up picking yuukai because it had so many connotations (abduction, kidnapping, hades, realm of the dead, fusion) and also because there is a similar word yukai that means "pleasant" or "happy".
I injected some humour (har har) and it was a major turning point for me in terms of colouring. So a doodle ended up breeding confidence for my colouring ability and for that I will always like this character.
So there you have it!

Actually man might have run into that same artist only a few days ago, like you said the idea of making her had to send you up the wall, lol.
That's so cool how you came up with her name, ironically she looks so scary its hard to say she's pleasant, that's includes probably being around a bunch of schoolgirls, lol.

That's awesome! I can't remember the artists name or his web site but I'd sure love to see what he's doing these days.
Personality wise I'd like her to be a super-cute flirty type who can never get her man (because she'd scare the bejesus out of him). Sort of forever locked in paradox. And yes, the monster side of her has some kind of problem with school girls hahaha.

Ah you mean kinda like Mandie and her ability to be totally psycho eh? That would be a rather interesting personality to see in a character like her and of course the chaps be scared the snot out of random tentacles popping up when you talk to her, lol.
