Yeah, the last thing used as an icon was a picture of yours-truly after jumping on the bandwagon for that "face icon" thing. I actually have three of the old VHS tapes of the "Commando Cody" serials
Me, too, but for now, I'm sticking with a pencil, pen, and sketchbook when doing so (at least until I can get the hang of that darn thing)

Thanks! I'll probably end up changing it again once a sweet piece is made using one of my characters, but for now, this shall do nicely
What I'm not a fan of is how even more sketchy a penciled drawing comes out once you've scanned. Maybe it's just me, but everytime I've scanned something drawn, it comes out with so many of those little pixelated blocks- how weird is that? Same thing happens when I scan something colored or inked

Oh you can fix that with the dpi settings. A higher dpi means less pixelation.
Of course it takes forever to scan that way, but it's worth it

I wouldn't go lower than 300 dpi, maybe 400-800 would be good.
Also sometimes you have to muck with the contrast/brightness settings to get it just right

Well, usually I use 300, then edit and alter what I need to in GIMP. The scanner does go pretty high, so I'll have to play around with that for whatever gets done next art-wise. Thanks for the advice!
