I'm actually trying to write a fan fic where Shantae gets caught and is put on the assembly line, to which she gets the fish stuck onto her, then manages to escape from the assembly line and has to free (and defeat) the Giga Mermaid as a mermaid. Then it slowly turns her into a real mermaid for being on her for so long, like this.

So, she ends up being stuck like that forever, but it's not all bad news, she meets a merman and falls in love with him.
