Description
one of my PMG designs which I first made using Photoshop long time ago and which is in my gallery under Suppressor MkII needed to learn more complex objects in Blender so I chose to do this one, I understand it is not perfect and the poly structure is quite messy but helped a lot to understand the Blender
soft: Blender 2.74

ok thats a tricky question as I don't think about the functionality that deep but I would say 7.62 as the original was made in PMG and used lots of parts from different weapons and I think the mag looks to be better suited for 7.62... I am sorry if it is not clear answer but I can't provide better one I'm afraid... ;o)

I have never seen a weapon without a stock, outside of 20K, and it's very pretty but the mag looks cheap compared to it.

I know because I did not spend enough time with the mag but I will go back to it at some point but thanks anyway ;o)

No, I mean like.
You took a gleaming weapon and put a mag from the 50s in it.

oh yeah I know... I did it as an exercise to learn a bit more about deforming objects and working with Blender so I did not think about proportions or functionality of it... if you would have any advice I would appreciate it... and thanks ;o)

I can't give you advice on modeling, you're clearly better at that than me, but as for the weapon itself - the receiver is much too large in certain areas and the stockpiece is unusable since its too close to the receiver. Those are your two main problems, if you solve that you solve pretty much everything else that is wrong with the weapon. As for minor things, you also have to make sure that the top of your magazine is close to the bolt to indicate that rounds can feed into the gun; keep the trigger and trigger guard large like on a real weapon, move the sight forwards along the rail so that it wasn't right in your eye.
Actually, now that I'm looking at your model, you may want to use edge split modifier on basically each object. Basically what this does it smooth out your curves so that cylinders and similar shapes looked like actual cylinders, rather than a collection of faces. I don't think this hits on performance but it makes things look better. make sure you set object to smooth to make it work.
