hehe no,thought that is also ''proof'' about the copy.Well technically Simba didn't copy Kimba.(here is the story to you):
Disney asked permission to Tezuka Productions to make a movie of Kimba.Disney bought everything to make the movie when suddenly Tezuka Producctions tells them that they are not interested anymore in them making a movie of Kimba.Disney having a bunch of diffrent things to make a movie decided to make their own type of lion movie, however they forgot an important detail:to ask Tezuka permission for the movie. When They released the movie Tezuka demanded Disney for ilegal use of their own character, but Disney explained why they did it and having more money they crushed Tezuka leaving the movie The Lion King where it was (to open public).
So now people say that Disney copied Tezuka when it actually didn't.
Hope I helped
PS:Simba is lion in Swahili.

No your wrong you mean get over the fact that Kimba copied Simba. Because there was no Kimba in the lion king then people just decided to make another character and mostley copied Simba's name practicly, so don't say Simba copied Kimba because that's wrong. I just wish they never made Kimba because i don't like him!

I don't dislike Lion King, but I do like making fun of it for being a Kimba ripoff.

Kimba maybe old news, but hes still the original. And if someone were to rip off lion king and get away with it, i doubt you would want to hear some new kids bashing Simba.

news flash -- Kimba has been "copied" several times over.. there's a similar story made by low budget animation companies that involve a lion called Leo and a cub called Tooey. Pokemon and Digimon are similar concepts but you don't hear anyone BAWWWWWing over that. Get over it. It's been done over and over and over throughout the ages and this is the one thing people fight over.

I am familiar with that, but in all of the remakes and similar concepts, lion king fans continuously bash Kimba over it, why cant I defend Kimba?

I agree.
This whole Kimba vs Simba thing is stupid. I like both franchises, I know that they're both similar, but I think some controversy is just a coincidence. The lions roaring at the edges of the rocks? Maybe more than a coincidence, but the subtle similarities are merely coincidences.

It wasn't the first or the last time Disney has profited off someone else's intellectual property. We're all quite used to the notion that Disney is a money-grubbing whore of a company, I think.

Fun fact: Lion King DIDN'T copy Kimba. Actually, it was first developed as a tribute to Osamu Tezuka's Kimba and was actually going to be a Kimba movie produced by Disney (Because Disney was actually a huge influence on Tezuka and they highly respected him). They had everything set, there are even some concept art and storyboards around depicting Simba (or rather Kimba) as a white lion-that was until Tezuka studios decided they didn't want the movie made after all (this was after Tezuka's been dead btw).
Stuck with a lion movie and plot, Disney decided to just make their own.
And thus Lion King was born

Sourceplz? I know that they wanted to make The Lion King into an americanized remake of Kimba, but I never heard that, at any point, Tezuka Inc said yes, or were even asked.

I like "Leo the White Lion" and "Lion King" a lot, but I am getting fed with with the BAWWfest of which one is a carbon-copy.

Lol thanks.
The fact is neither copied the other.
Disney inspired Tezuka who in turn inspired Disney who in turn inspires more anime who in turn inspires more western cartoons-and you can kind of see the cycle I'm going with this.
Beyond Kimba and Lion King, animation simply inspires animation.

so why did Disney deny ever hearing of Kimba & Tezuka Osamu if this is what they wanted to do in the first place? Tezuka proudly admitted to be inspired by Disney to become an animator.
Besides, Disney wanted to buy the rights of Kimba. And the company said no. So attempted to fabricate a similar movie, using the story of hamlet ( not macbeth, i dont know where everyone's getting that from) but the same character concepts.
