Hiya there folks
this is the painted drawing of [link] and I know I usually post of thursday and I suppose to write some words about the character, because this is the first drawing of him I've ever made...But I can't help! I am so excited about this drawing that I dont want to wait!!
Not much people know but, Genie was always my one of my all-time fave character (as well as the movie of course) because he has a very charming personality; he's spontaneous, funny, jolly, friendly and laidback, very welcome and warm! One of the things I love the most about him it's that he has so much energy and spontaneity, just like Robin Williams, who gives him his voice in english!
And the animation of his expressions fit really well with the character!! Some time ago I saw a clip of the original version with the voice of robbin williams, and it was really amazing! Also I love his voice in Spanish from Mexico too, cos it is also really expressive and warm and versatile like robin williams one! I'm really pleased with this drawing because it is my very first drawing of him, and even so I think it looks cool!
It looks like how I imagined it in my mind when I started to paint it 
And I'm really excited cos, this is my first tribute to Genie and the people who are behind it; it's a little tribute I do with all my heart for Robbin Willians, Ruben Trujillo "Trujo" ( the dubbing actor in mexican version) and of course, all the cast and crew of the movie (the mexican cast and the original cast in English) and of course to the other fans of the character!

So sparkly and shiny! Love the effects, they turned out really nice.
I always did love Genie, always funny in the most crazy way! He made the movie so entertaining with all of his magic and humor, and Robin Williams really nailed his personality.

Do not feel bad my friend ^ _ ^ I will try my hardest to remember everything that I had tosay about this drawing *blush* BUT THERE IS SO MUCH TO SAY XD
I have to start with the basic design, it adds a much needed humanizing to the genies form. In the show and movies he was so amorphous it was ridiculous, especially since it was implied that he might have been human once.
But at the same time you eem to have made him more mythical in a sense, the aded sparkles and mistyness of the tail work really well and it makes sense. It has seemed from time to time in theshow that he seemed almost liquid . . . but this is smokey, like how a genie of a LAMP should be since it is an incence lamp after all.
Also I looooooooooove how the beard looks, it doesnt blend into his face like the genie of the films and show. And being fuller it makes him look a little wiser while coupled with amazing and beautiful eyes :3
And the fact that his manacles match the metal of the lamp was an incredibly smart and perceptive thing to do. Since that woul make sense in a strange way.
in short, I think your version of the genie design is incredible, and extremely well thought out

you know...now I get to understand better what you referred to some time ago, when you mentioned that you needed to have a routine, something constant, and that not having at least something constant made you felt panic, I know I'm that way too *chuckles*
