You know, I’ve realized I didn’t have paid attention to my friends here as much as I wanted, specially in these past days, because I had no enough time to do that before, due many troubles I had, and also obviously because I hadn’t a good mood to do almost anything…In these past days I went to work by inertia, and worked by inertia too …But now I’ve got some free time and I feel quite better, thanks to a friend of mine and also due the great and warm acceptation of my first Megamind pic!!! I’m always glad to post something here! Recently I made some tributes for a few friends of mine I wanted to make since a pretty good time ago! And now it’s time for Zime! First of all, the whole comment for this piece was something I started to write since like …5 or 6 weeks ago! but I couldn’t finish it and publish the drawing cos my dad was saying I had to turn off the computer early until now, it was because my brothers broke a key of my dad’s computer cos they’re playing all the day, and they pressed the key too had and it left the keyboard

Well, I’m not sure if she thinks so…since I haven’t talked with her very much due lack of time, we exchanged a few words once….but I consider her my friend! And I admire her and her art a lot! She’s very creative and nice, and her art it’s so awesome and original!! it’s very lively and colorful! He’s got ones of the most spectacular, awesome and wacky stories/characters I’ve ever seen! …it’s one those people who it feels almost can explode with amazing, original and wonderful ideas! the kind of people who when you meet them, you almost instantly get thrilled and have a yearning to sponsor them so they can make something with their ideas! You’re so excited and you say “It’s totally a genius!...Why this person is not making movies and shows with her stories????!!!!!” and later you remember you don’t have any money (That feels so bad! Seriously! not to have the media to help people like that!) That kind of people is very rare (I think that’s why there’s so much remakes and parodies and that stuff in TV ) they’re like one in a billion, and almost always they come from a noble origin, I mean they’re noble and kindhearted, but they have no enough money to make something with their ideas... A friend of mine says I’m one of those, and certainly I have a few friends here that are like that, Zime is one of those! and I actually thought that the first time I visited her gallery “why she isn’t making shows or movies with all these awesome ideas!!”
So, I always wanted to make some tribute to her characters cos I love them, and now I’d like to post something for her! It’s a pencil drawing of his character Hieros with a character of mine
I wanted to draw him since the first time I saw a pic of him, but, Why I drew Hieros with a character of mine? You may wonder…Well, it’s because I’ve always seen Hieros as an icon of serenity and peace! ^^ I’m not sure if that’s true though, since I still haven’t read the other part of the comic where he appears (I’ve seen just the first part, and a few panels of the part 2) but since the first time I saw a drawing of him I imagined him as a very laidback, jolly character, and specially with this SO gorgeous pic [link] (which was my first pic of him I saw, and she re-uploaded it for me a while ago so I can get the inspiration to draw him, which I thank you so much! ) I figured him like a character that looked like a symbol of the wisdom, serenity and reason! I love the fact she portraits him as someone so spontaneous and laidback, like when he’s playing his instrument that looks like a harmonica or something…but well, what I was saying before, it’s that I drew him with this character because this is an alien whose species is considered an icon of wisdom, serenity, peace and reason! When I drew this I was thinking of this view I have of Hieros, and also reading her comic (if you want to see it, the first part [link] ) reminded me of myself when I was younger, and had lots and lots of wonderful ideas!! (sadly, I forgot many of them due the negative response of my parents to my art, they always thought it was silly and useful and always pressed me to stop drawing and making comics) and therefore, I was so excited and I got inspired to draw a random character of one of my not-so-forgotten alien races from one of my sci-fi stories! ^^
So in this drawing her character Hieros (love the name! ) meets an alien kid of an species that I’d like to call a Patchian. It’s because the planet’s name is “Patch” that was the name I heard when I dreamed with this species, I saw the planet and its people, in a dream just once…. although maybe I will change the name later, cos maybe it sounds a bit goofy for some people but I don’t care much about the name cos the right name always comes to me “by chance” at the end!

“Patch is wonderful a peaceful planet, where its habitants live in harmony with nature. If you ever come to Patch, you will see their homes building in ecological harmony with nature, and the majestic landscapes full of lakes, meadows and valleys, splendorous nature that you have ever seen in anywhere! And you will want to live there forever! For its landscapes, for its people…People from patch is quite serene and tolerant, really compassionate and caring people; in Patch everyone knows each other, and even if they don’t know each other, they give the hand to anyone who were lost or needs help. They are very devoted to art, philosophy, and nature caring! So it’s from there that we have our most amazing artists and wise people!
Patchians are described by many ancient books as ‘the life-givers’, since there’s a Legend about a special, incredibly and cosmic power coming from them. Books say they can heal people with just by touching them and giving them their spiritual energy!…and when they do so, it is described like a feeling of an overwhelming, incredibly beautiful physical and emotional happiness! Also they say all your most beautiful old memories will awake and you will remember many ideas and feeling that you ever didn’t know you had! But in order to be able to use their power, Patchians have to train since they’re young, cos that’s not a lucky thing, it’s something it’s developed with time, effort and patient, and if they do it early, more possibilities will have to use their powers correctly! Patchian spirits are as deep as the ocean…and if they want to train, they have to choose carefully a trainer, who they will entrust the most deepest thoughts and feelings, their beings, their whole soul and heart. When they train, the trainer enters in their memory and sees everything that lives in it! And the ones who are in training see the trainer’s spirit and mind too, and there’s nothing to hide!...that’s why a trainer and his pupil always become their most loyal friends and sidekicks for a lifetime, and they developed a wonderful and strength bonding forever……But there is a disadvantage in this tale, cos if they choose a bad person as their trainer, they may lose their soul forever and being in pain from all eternity, and they will never get a place on the Patchian heaven!”

Hehe this was fragment of something I’d love to hear if my story can become a movie/book or comic someday…I always imagined this description of this planet and it’s people being narrated by a British actor! ^_^ I think a British voice would give this description the feeling wonder and amazement that it needs. The story about Patchian powers it’s actually a metaphor: it says that Patchian are like us, and it describes how people in real life are capable of helping others with their heart and mind, and their willing to help! But to developed all our potential we must have a Mentor, that is the trainer in the sci-fi story. It also describes the bonding many people do in real life when they find a Mentor! And in the story, the aliens says they’ll lost their soul if they choose the wrong people as their Mentor, because in real life they do; people who have a Mentor who is not a good person and disappoints them, lost their spirit forever, lost the essence of who they are and then they end up becoming apathetic and hopeless loosers...well, in the less bad cases....
So, the close bond with a Mentor is stronger that with family, relatives, and even I'd dare to say its way stronger than a marriage! The philosophy of that relationship Mentor-Pupil is the most beautiful and strong bonding between people in real life, that's what inspired me to do this species…also I had some influence in part from one of my most fave movies “Dragonheart”…
Well…Now why I feel like I’ve made a great comment for a not-so-amazing drawing? …I feel that…but when I started to write this I didn’t thought on write about the aliens in question, just some quick fact about them…but later I felt hugely inspired!!! And I knew if I hadn’t wrote it maybe now I have forgotten all! So I think it’s alright
Now about the drawing, I made this on Nov 25, by pencil, without reference of Hieros (because I had him in my memory, usually I draw by memory ) and a patchian kid of 9 or 10 years who is asking him candidly if he wants to be her Mentor. The collar charm is a gift her mother gave it to her, it was from a gift from her mother’s Mentor….I made this cos I thought I would be a very cute and warm scene ^___^ and I loved a lot the was this came out with the shading! Also Hieros wings!! I'm so very pleased with this, this was so fun to draw and it wasn't difficult at all!! It still amazes me this one came so naturally! (Is my second drawing of him, although I'm not sure if the first count because it was just a doodle) But as you know, I hate drawing backgrounds!!! It’s SO difficult to me to draw backgrounds and sets, cos I just like drawing the characters! And when I’m drawing backgrounds I get bored of them before finished them! That’s why in this drawing it seems the character are stand and sitting in nonwhere!! …I know it’s quite funny fact because backgrounds are art too…but I just can’t stand them sometimes! It’s hard to me to get motivated to draw backgrounds!
Well, this is dedicated to my friend hope you like this Zimy!! and maybe later I can paint it digitally, I feel that digital backgrounds are more easy to do that traditional ones!
