Hiya there folks!
Hope you're doing good, and don't think I've been forgetting you! I just have been off for a while because I've been struggling a bit to get used to the new shedule I have for this year. If you've read my most recent journal, you probably know I've started to do social service, and this means of course, a lot less time to draw Also, I commented there that I got an injured foot as well.
So, all this time I had to go to the service and school with the injured foot, and I think that's why this my foot it's healing very very slowly, cos I haven't had much time to rest the foot.
So, now it's social service in the morning and school in the afteroon, and it's being quite difficult. Specially to do my homeworks, sometimes I have to do my homework at night cos I'm busy during the daytime.

But I think I'm starting to managing to organize myself a bit with this new schedule, so I can have a bit of time to come here. Donc me revoilà!

And today I'd like to share something I did for my "cartoon and character development" class. This drawing was from a couple of weeks ago. Made on 7 february 2017.
As the class name suggest, yes it was one of my favorite things in the world! Creation of cartoon characters!

It happened that for that class we had to make a character from zero, but I didn't wanted to since the time to work on my career cycles is always very short. So I decided to re-work the design of my charater Pierre the octopus, because the one I currently had haven't convinced me very much.
I talked with my dear friend and mentor about this the last weekend, and there's this quote I'd like to share about the anecdote
Sharing it as a quote because I already wrote it, and I don't like "paste-copy" stuff I've already said, I think it gives a bad impression to people. Plus, I don't want to bother my friend reading it all again if she comes to visit this piece of art.

"first we made a list of all the physical and personality traits, my classmates did it with a new character, and I wrote pierre's ones. After that, the next classes we did lots of sketches, and it's funny...it was until then that I could figure out how my character should really look like! Because I was paying attention to personality traits. My teacher said the physical traits must show something related to the character's personality traits, and the she wanted us to do a lot of eyes and mouths and other parts of the body separately So I did it.
Even if I didn't started from zero, she said that was going to help me.
I couldn't believe it because I thought "I already have the character, right?" But surprisingly, it helped me "to land my plane" for that design so to speak
being there doing all those sketches
was like...
...like being inside a nebula
You know, because in the nebulas is where new stars and planets are created inside them. They are constantly creating stuff, that's how I felt.
It was truly amazing!"

I felt I was quite "stuck" on his design development, and I wanted my teacher to help because of her experience. And I think she did it, cos I'm very happy with the result!
Now I can compare this Pierre with the the older drawings of him of my gallery, and is really great to see the improvements! ^^
My teacher that if I wanted pierre to look heartwarming as I described on his personality, the eyes and mouth must give more emphasis to facial expressions, so that's why I did the eyebrows at the end. Also, that's why I conserved the mouth, because of how it helped to facial expressions. And because for this project in particular, it was not necessary to take off the mouth because it wasn't going to be a documentary show.

Oh and, the best part of the anecdota I think, is that when my teacher saw this drawing, she was really happy and amazed! She said that I was born for this, and I should be working for Disney or Dreamworks, or Studio Ghibli!!
And that was amazing! It made me feel so happy and warm inside! ^^
I told to my friend that I didn't know if I was doing the right thing continuing doing this just for fun, you know, for what people say...that if it doesn't give money they consider it a waste of time.
And she gave me a very wise and wonderful advice I'd like to share:
She said that it doesn't matter if I get to work for a big studios one day or not, if I like it and I'm good at it, then I've been born to do it. I should keep doing it because doing this makes me happy and takes off my stress.
And yeah, it's true! And not only that! But this is what helps me to stay positive everyday and be person who is friendly and whose heart it's filled with hope, love and understanding! The kind of person I like to be. And I'm so happy that I can keep doing art and sharing it with you guys here! ^^

Oh and....
I know I should mention this on a journal But true is that I'm not sure if I will have the time to do that, because I have a lot of school projects to do. So I mentiond it here.

My last weekend was super awesome! Not this one, but the other before this one.
Because, as I already said, I got a bit of time to hang out with my dear friend and telling her about this anecdote, and it was such heartwarming and cool moment as always! :happybounce ^__^

Also, cos at that weekend I received an incredible gift!
A book!
...And not any book, but THE BOOK!!!! The one I've been waiting to read since at least 8 years! *chuckles*
Currently I'm reading it,little by little, on the weekends when I have time.
...And the best part it's that I'm going to work collaborate a bit with it!
oh gosh, how I wish I could talk a bit about this right now! *chuckles*
...But I'm not sure if I can do it just yet, or if I will be able to So...

So I just would like to say that that my last weekend was totally awesome!
For that, and also because I got to talk with my dear friends and , and I spend a really cool moment with them!
Also that weekend was the time when I met a new friend here on dA, the amazing and talented , who is such a cool person! ^_^
And I would like to thank a lot to you guys for giving me such a great time every time I talk with you!!
