What was you trying for? As far as I can see it looks fine, then again I've always enjoyed your colored pieces-- You've got a very unique and great style of coloring.

I wanted a more...scaled look in the tails they look lovely and smooth but it makes me think slug.

Hmn, I can see that now yes, but some, well alot of snakes do look like that. My suggestion would be add in a pattern to show the scaled texture. I've just started redrawing true anthromorphic creatures and a snake one is on my list, I plan on using the texture of scalemail armor for the body. Its alot easier to find ref pictures of scalemail in books then close-ups of snakes skin. The draconomicon has some great close-up shots of dragon scale patterns if you can get a hold of that on ebook. Anyway just some friendly suggestions for the future ^^

Ooo I have that book! I will have to go over it again, problem I have is ...lack of paitence >.>; I get bored or distracted and leave it till it gets to this point where I just don't want to finish it anymore and looking at it bothers me.
