Description
An unofficial map of Panem, the country in which the Hunger Games trilogy takes place. Decided to include train tracks.I suppose I'll go through where each district is in comparison to North America today.
-The Capitol: Sits right where Denver, Colorado once was. I always considered Colorado to be the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
-District 1: Northern Wyoming
-District 2: Salt Lake City-Provo, Utah
-District 3: New Mexico/Oklahoma border
-District 4: South of San Antonio, Texas. Also extends into Gulf of Mexico and the large lake that runs through what was upper Mexico.
-District 5: Southwest Arkansas
-District 6: Near St. Louis, Missouri
-District 7: Just south of Michigan
-District 8: Northern Iowa
-District 9: Around central South Dakota
-District 10: Eastern Kansas
-District 11: Southern Georgia, near Florida
-District 12: Southern West Virginia/Virginia border
-District 13: Just West of Washington D.C.

This is most likely the best map out there. I think I am in 13 or underwater.

Freaky-I live where district four would be and I played a tribute from district four in a play I wrote with some friends for theater camp.

Of course it is! I love Canada! But when looking at the placement of the districts and taking flooding into account, it made most sense to keep Panem largely in North America. It's obviously a small country with few people, so it wouldn't develop over a large area. So the remains of Canada are mostly used for arenas.
Sorry I had to exclude your country...I really do like Canada, though!

District 12 is in the Pennsylvania area because the book said it was in the Appalachia, and I understand that the Appalachians stretch pretty far south and north, but Pennsylvania is the state with the big coal industry, but it's really good!

That's really cool Is North America that shape in reference to how the country has slowly lost land mass? Because that would seem logical. Even if not good job

Yep! I laid a map of North America down underneath the drawing, and I brought in the water quite a bit. I even flooded Canada to the point that it was split in two, although I ended up cropping it right off in the final map.

This is really amazing. Personally I've always thought that district 12 would have been more toward the west coast rather than the east coast (since even now the west works a great deal in "clean coal") And since it's always said that 13 was closest to 12 I always thought it northwest of 12. That was my own personally thinking anyway.
Love the map!

That's really interesting about District 12, but Katniss mentioned District 12 being in Appalachia, which is on the eastern seaboard.

Cool map but by "North America" did you mean "United States of America" because I don't see any mention of Canada or Mexico in the description. Or in the map. At all.
But it still looks really awesome.

I was honestly going to incorporate all three countries into the map, but by the time I got done establishing the new coastlines, if I placed any districts in Canada or Mexico, it would've looked awkward and screwed with the placement of the districts that I had in my head. It may not be a great excuse, but that's why. So I guess that they could be used for arenas...
