Discord is the spirit of chaos and disharmony, he's basically a god.

He was a villain in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, he was in a stone prison by the rulers of the land, but the upcoming disharmony among the ponies broke him free. They defeated him again, then reformed him.
It's kinda hard to explain what he is, he seems to have unlimited power in the series.
He teleports around, pranks others, and even after he was reformed he still likes to mess around with others, never giving straight up answers, and purposely confuse everyone.
He's a pretty fun character, and he's voiced by John de Lancie (Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation)
