This is inspired by the wonderfully creepy fic "Monkey", by Nightwind . It's about the Lambo twins, but not as you've ever seen them before
And the title is from a song that could have been written specifically to match this fanfic. It's a bit uncanny. The song is called "How Can I Live" by Ill Niño , and it's a great dark song, I love it 8)
So anyway, I listened to the song, heard the correlation, and decided to draw this picture. I've also posted the lines in my scraps (along with the sketch), because it's a little annoying when you spend ages drawing a character for an image and the finished version is so dark you can't see them anyway

Wow, so dark and intense... and the glowing effects you did to their optics and the text here are absolutely amazing! You always know how to make the Lambo Twins incredibly sexy in your art. Nice work!

I absolutely love the depth to this image. It's beautiful, twisted and dark. <3 I also love the placing of the lyrics. Love that song. Considering I haven't READ the ficlet, I can't crit on the connection of the fic meaning to the lyrics, but the picture certainly does I'll Nino justice. <3

Holy mother of PRIMUS! Man, I absolutely ADORED that fic, it's so DAMN AWESOME. And this pic... It just reflects it PERFECTLY. The look on both their faces, Sides insecure and slightly guilty one... and then Sunny's face... I just don't think there's a word to describe Sunstreaker's look in this pic. I love it!

This image is so beautiful I almost can't stand it.
I can almost taste Sideswipe's hopelessness and fear. He's trapped and hurt and no one can know because Sunstreaker (the representation of his guilt and his "wrong") are there blocking him in.

And then H&M is a total ass...Gah that made me upset. I'm going to go be part of the Outcast group. It took SO much for Sideswipe to actually gather up that courage and tell Optimus and Prowl and then they punish him for saving the lives of other Autobots at the risk to his own.
Also I was finally able to listen to the song and WOW. I had to buy it.

Aaargh, I know. Not so noble now, are we?? As Tracks said, Sideswipe wasn't the one who did it, it was the person he used to be and he has been punished enough! Under no judicial system known to sanity do you convict or punish a person for the same crime more than once -_- Ugh. They're just afraid and reacting very poorly indeed.

This picture is so intense. Holy crap. 
It took me a moment to figure out who was in the picture, though. I could see Sideswipe and recognized your special design of him, but the one he was with. For the first split second, it's hard to make him out. You're right, it is dark.
Both bots get more beautiful every time you draw them. Here, it's just...haunting. Truly uncanny. A little frightening.
Sideswipe just looks so... so much like he's written in the fic!
And Sunstreaker is so much the monster!

Monkey is a stunning fic. I only read the first three chapters and then the epilogue, but still. Damn. This writer makes me not hate first-person written stories so much. Her descriptions, her dialogue, the premise of the story. I fell a little bit in love with the horror she made me feel.
You, my dear, have impeccable tastes in darkly sadistic fics. 
Also, the lyrics to the song are disturbingly appropriate.

The intensity! IT BURNS!
Ah yes, Sunstreaker being a creepy shadow lurker. I wanted him to be hard to recognize in the end, so he would be the villain cornering Sideswipe before he was the twin brother people would recognize. Because the point of the fic is that not only are they not twins, but that the fanon happy happy twins do not exist, so I tried not to show them to the extent that was possible

Oh yes, all those things that get our engines going, like hard, gritty, twisted sociopathic twins. But have no fear, there are worse things . Sunstreaker is a bit like a siren, even down to the fact that everyone knows he's dangerous, but he's just so fascinating we don't care! Unless, you know, that's the kind of person you'd want to hang out with in real life, in which case you really should see professional assistance.

Your twins are not damaged or creatively twisted like the ones in "Monkey", no, but having had a good think about it so as not to lie to you; I actually think yours are better for the following reasons:
1. Yours are actually twins and therefore don't disregard thirty years of the characters' existance;
2. Yours are recognizable as the canon and fanon twins, but with your own spin;
3. Your spin makes them better characters, not just different;
4. Your twins are equally if not more damaged, coming from starting higher and thus dropping lower;
5. Your twins are more ambigious; it's not a case of 'pity this one and hate that one', they both have their pros and cons, and;
6. They're sexy.
... That's a fair reason, right? ... Makes for good fanart

I will ignore the fact that you had to think about the reasons my version of the twins is better, because the correct answer is that you knew they were better and the answer was on the tip of your tongue.
