Description
So, I know this isn't much, but I've yet again taken a long break from my art stuff and getting back it made me want to post at least something; Although, I'll probably move this to scraps in the future. That being said I had an idea and started researching it, so this is the result of far more work then it probably looks like as each sword, while being a unique creation of my own, was researched quite extensively to make sure I was building it in a manner that accurately reflects the real thing and thus is designed completely functionally first as a weapon, I would like to go in and add more flare still, but I would prefer to do that in tandem with the visual designing of the characters these belong to.
Knowing that the hilt on a Rapier was so complicated made me choose to do it last, but I must say that it was the most fun and satisfying sword of the lot.
I also feel I should explain, despite the similar sounding name, a curtana has nothing to do with the Japanese katana. The name curtana (could also be cortana or courtain) is dirived from the Latin "curtus" which means "short" or "shortened" and is basically a sword that has been broken and re-tipped at that shorter length. Thus the curtana here is a cut-down monstrosity of a Great Sword that was originally around 1.8m long. I have, in the story idea that spawned all this, good reasons for using what is normally a purely ceremonial sword in actual combat that should make it a very interesting weapon to see used.
Anyways, nothing fancy here really, textures are simple procedural's and render is raw from Blender.
Thanks for looking, and if you read to here you get a Close up in appreciation.
