The Thousand Sparkles of a Translucent RoseI sit and watch you seem to shift with the golden sun. You glint with each amber beam, painting a mosaic of light on the otherwise bland wall.
You do not notice the effect you have, the way you entrance me and capture my sight. I feel an attachment to you, as though silver shackles bound me to your unknowing charm.
Your stillness entrances, flawless in its simplicity. I am enthralled by the way you let the light caress you while you deny it. Yours is the beauty of the greatest night’s vision, yet as real as the sun you entertain.
But I know that the love felt is only my wistful imaginings, that a return of any wild affection would be unattainable by you. And yet still I wait, hoping the day will arrive that heralds your arrival to the life I wish to see you elate in. Until that ever-elusive moment, I sit and gaze. I gaze at you, the rose of my eyes.
