You have some nice illustration skills. Your style has a texture and quality that seems to carry Earthen overtones of movies such as "Dark Crystal". Trust me it's a good thing

Why thank you! I love the Dark Crystal, so there's nothing but compliments for me there. : ) I'm about to embark on a webcomic venture with the hedgehog adventurer, so more earthen tones to come.

This looks like it would fit if it were just plopped down into a Star Wars film. Everything looks so solid, and the character's brooding look brings more emotion in and is just rather unexpected in the intense setting. Awesome.

That's a good question!
To get to this final image quality the scene had to be rendered in 2 different passes, and then run through an automatic batch operation in CS3. The final output is this hybrid 3D - animation cell look. The process has taken me more then a year to develop. It's not quite perfected yet, but It's getting close

Hard to say exactly. I've worked on the piece on and off again whenever I had time. I did the jet-car first and that took me a few months, then the cityscape later. Maybe in total 3-4 months? That is a bit too long for me. I need to try and get faster at this.

This is just outstanding, looks like a shot from an full-length CG animation. The colors and texture just add to that effect.
