I don't know Haruhi, but I know Asuka is just the way she is due to her past, so I can't vote her as annoying, just troubled. Guess that means Haruhi gets my vote by default?

God, she`s the only anime character I could TRULY hate! Because while Asuka has bitchy attitude herself and has reasons for it - Haruhi just PRETENDS to be a bitch and she`s a REAL attention whore!
Asuka actually can be nice towards some ppl (Hikari, Misato, Kaji, Ritsuko), while Haruhi is just...uhhh...I said everything already.
Asuka pushing everyone aways because she`s afraid of being alone again, but Haruhi is NOT alone. Neither she had any traumas.
So yeah.
I prefer NOT to hate cartoons, but this needed to be said. :,D I feel much better now. :3
I didn`t like Harihi at all. The only character I actually liked there was Yuki and no - that was NOT because of how she reminds of Rei (honestly - I watched Haruhi BEFORE Evangelion), but Haruhi just pissed me off the most. Maybe because of how her fanbase worships her like she`s a godess, but maybe because I just don`t support when girls pretend to be a whore...Because when they pretend - they REALLY ARE a whores...
Sorry, Haruhi fans. Nothing personal.
As an Asuka fan I can call Asuka annoying at times, but she has her IMPORTANT reasons. If she would find at least 1 NORMAL person around her who would care, love and understand her - she would be way more nicer.
Why she`s nice around Hikari? Because Hikari respects her and supports her as her friend.
And she`s bitchy towards Shinji because she wants him to be a MAN, not to make fun of him and/or make him feel bad.

I don`t HATE her. In 99,9% cases I am totally neutral to her, but since there was such an opportunity to vote and express opinion...I said what I have wanted. :,D
Plus I don`t want her to be compared with Asuka.
Asuka is totally different from her: she`s very deep, traumatized, complicated character who is what ALL OF US can be from time to time.
This is the only reason ppl hate Asuka. Because it`s painfull to watch the truth.
But I love Asuka. 
Haruhi is opposite - she`s FAKE in all ways.

Haruhi because she's an overpower god mary-sue character that act as the boss around the club. She always force Miyuki to do any event that she's not comfortable. Example making nerds to force harass Miyuki. And yet she never learn her lesson in the series. Asuka on the other hand is a bitch at times, BUT she has Mother issues and she was in the mental state where she end up in the coma. Also Asuka have flaws in the end. Haruhi is just some god and get away in any situtations she put in. So Haruhi. I don't really hate Haruhi, but at times she needs to get slap in the face. Asuka already did so why not Haruhi?

It's a tough one, but I go with Asuka. She has her badass moments, but she often mentions about her mom. That's what makes her annoying.
