Description After redesigning the minion gray (which I'm just now realizing I haven't posted yet, oops) I felt that Gross didn't feel different enough to justify a different design. It looked way too similar for me, but I just really liked the design so instead I made them into an entire species! I get to keep the design with only minor changes, and I get to expand the world a bit more. Win win! So let me give you a quick rundown of what I'm thinking for these guys.

Minions grow normally over a span of 3 - 5 years in which time they'll find a boss monster (usually a male gray but we'll get back to that later) and join their pack. Once established as a member, and only if they find a gray pack, they'll continue to grow into a sub-adult (the original Gross) and as they get closer to "sexual maturity" they'll become more distant. They'll stop coming to parties, be a bit more closed off, and overall become a bit more lethargic in day-to-day activities but they'll completely excel at whatever job they happen to be assigned to. It's completely normal to see a Goss be the MVP of the workday and put more effort into their job than even their seniors then just totally vanish into their den without word till the next day. It's around the peak of this activity that they final change of their sub-adult stage will happen; their ears will droop (as shown in pic). This is a social signal that they're ready to "mate". Now mating in Grays is a completely different process then any living thing or even the other peeps. Grays don't reproduce through sex or any genetic act but through ritual combat and death. Once those ears drop any sub-adult will immediately become delusional and fully cannibalistic towards other Grays. This is a totally normal part of any Gray colony and it's expected to lose around 23% of the younger population, meaning Greeps and younger subs, to cannibalism. These wild subs that I'll from here on refer to as Agreeps (Agro-peeps) will systematically track down any packs in the area and challenge the oldest sub in the group to a fight regardless of if that Gray is its own sexual maturity. This fight can only go two ways:

1). If the Agreep wins it'll consume both the shadow of the sub and incorporate its cloth poncho into its own to artificially increase its size, ballooning into a young male. Once the Agreep is male it will immediately stop all cannibalism and violent activities towards fellow Grays and move to the very edges of the Rows where it will hunt, grow, and find a territory to defend for the next 2 years. Most inherit their territories from their fathers or close father figures but it's not impossible (even if extraordinarily rare) to see fatherless peeps fighting to claim another's territory. They'll usually spend this time hunting for restaurants, learning to fight from local older males, or can be hired as personal security much like a watch dog. After those two years they regain most of their logical minds and will return to the city in search of a female. I also feel it's important to mention that only around 35% of males will ever reach full adult size and reproduce. 15% Are usually expected to die as young adult Grays are considered a delicacy in specific Yellow sectors while the rest die in a fight, we'll cover a little later on.

2). If the Agreep loses and isn't killed it'll flee the fight to hide and stitch itself back together and it's here during this process that they'll become "female". You see, if any tears are made in the poncho of a Gray, it'll poor out of it. They are just shadow after all. Despite it being their body, they have no control over it once it's out in the open air so when this happens, they stretch out whatever remaining fabric they have left to fill that gap and "stop the bleeding". The result is that they'll appear to get much taller even though they are actually lighter than they were before. In order to make back the deficit they'll become the single most efficient and dangerous hunters in all the Rows. Their thinner bodies allow then to fit into smaller openings making them one of the few peeps able to enter and even catch any kind of Orange. But there's one major difference between male and female Grays; Females quickly, if not instantly, regain their conscious mind and will eagerly return to work though few do. While they can whenever they want, most will spend the next 1-2 years bulking up before coming back and once they are they remain completely solitary, refusing to join any Gray packs. Not even their original one though there are always exceptions. From there life will continue as normal for them.

Now, once those males have spent their 2 years honing their skills, they'll re-enter the cities for their most important fight. They track down a female and try to kill them. This isn't a formal challenge as before when they were subs, this is full-on predation. They'll do everything in their power to get the jump on whichever female they manage to find and they're in desperate need of the advantage. Aside from an Elder Yoss in its prime or a full flock of Oranges there has never been a more dangerous peep created than a fit young female. As a matter of fact, a good chunk of a female's diet may even include some young males during their time in the outer Rows. These fights are sudden and usually end just as quickly as they begin. All a female has to do is avoid the males' jaws as one bite is instant death. All the male has to do is get her between his jaws as one bite is instant death. If he manages to get hold of her, he'll violently shake her and tear her to pieces and completely fragment her shadow. Each fragment and each cloth chunk will then grow into a new Greep with litters usually averaging 30-40 in number and will become his pack. Oh, and don't worry! The female doesn't stop existing! She's simply split into smaller parts with each part having a full memory of her past. Even though this memory will slightly fade as they reach sub-adult and they'll develop distinct personalities as they age in general, it's the main reason for their danger, a shared memory of every female from the past. To say they are excellent hunters would be an understatement. But if the male loses.... the female will usually give him pointers on what he could've or should've done better and will usually invite him out to lunch to discuss it further before sending him on his way so he can reset his ambush and try again.

I hope this was easy to understand or even a little enjoyable. Thanks for reading!
