On Snoogles world doors are held in great importance. They symbolize both the beginning and endings of stories, pathways between the world of the living and of the dead, and of so much more. They're also seen as symbols of the home. To enter a home through any means other than a door is a great social taboo and so many homes have more than one. In fact, it's common for some of the wealthier homes to have three or even four front doors; one to embody each past patriarch or important figure in the family/community. To pass through these doors is to enter on common ground with anyone inside.

Snoogle, however, cannot enter doors. He cannot even Open doors. For one reason or another he is forbid by some cosmic force to interact with doors. One can open a door, pass through, and close it behind them with no problem but as soon as Snoogle touches a door, even one completely lacking a lock, it'll freeze. No matter how hard he pushes or pulls, he can't open that door. And despite the fact others can clearly see he's struggling they choice to ignore it. Rather they think it's a deliberate act Snoogle is making just to insult the doors and all they represent. So Snoogle is hated and shunned through no fault of his own. All he can door and scream and yell and beg to the gods to fix him or even just explain why he's been cursed. But they don't answer.
