Awhile ago I intended on making a short comic series about a mysterious town and they strange gold rituals. The general idea was that the town would gather all their gold, silver, really anything shiny, and place it all in a pile in the center of town then just leave it there! No one took anything, no one didn't participate, none of that. A few days later wyverns would descend on the town and take all of it. Turns out the dragons use these shiny things to make their nests look pretty to attract females but after the nesting season they no longer had any use for it so would just leave it there. So, every year after the nesting period the town men would go and collect it all as well as all the gold stolen from other towns making them a huge profit! May return to this some day
