Commission for Redace83 of his protogen Noisy and her friend Paper enjoying a little down time after a rain storm. I think this is my magnum opus piece for this year. It took a lot of time and effort, but I think it was well worth it. Thanks again for commissioning me! Noisy is a fun character to draw, and I'm glad I got a 3rd chance to do so.

We went through a few iterations before settling on the idea of Noisy jumping into a puddle. Her outfit went through a couple variations too, and I'm glad we settled on that leotard design. Noisy looks really nice in one. I then...went a little crazy with the background. The background buildings involved some photo references, but to get the foreground to look right I did a little modeling and rendering in Blender. Then afterwards I used a handy feature in Clip Studio that allows it to extract lineart from an image, cleaned that up, then painted over it. Then Noisy and Paper were drawn in a cell shaded style, which lets them stand out nicely from the background. I'm really happy with how all the water, reflection, and atmospherics turned out. The reflections from Blender were really bad on the ground surface, so those were all by me.

One more thing. Paper is an interesting one. She's from another world, but exists in this world as kind of an augmented reality buddy for Noisy. Meaning that no one else but Noisy can see her. Hence why she has no reflection on the ground and is able to float wherever she pleases.
