Backgrounds can be tough - and a lot of it can be mindset (try to make the background as fun for you to draw as the character is, and you'll like the results more). What you've got here reminds me of that sort of blurred city lights at night effect.Β Did you use anything like a photo reference, or is it from your mind?
If you can bring this in to photoshop and play with it some more, I think if you could adjust the colors in the background with the hue slider, maybe to something closer to blue or purple, so the hue isn't so close to colors in the character's hair, it will help him stand out more against it.

I did the background myself for a second try, but it was supposed to look like some burning ember sparx but it turned out...not so well.
But I just have to keep on practicing

I see!Β I think you've got a good start!Β I'm a serious supporter of practicing with references.Β When I'm unhappy with how something looks, I try to find photos with similar features online and compare it to what I'm doing to see what I can do better.

Hmm yeah, well I always trying to improve myself everyday, I did compare with some lights from distans but I just couldn't get it right hehe
