Yep, it is!
In fact Searchtale is a AU create by a friend where monsters and humans can create, with magic weapons with their souls.
And the main story is totally different: Chara fall into the underground become friend with asriel and meet Papyrus and Sans. Sans have the mission to protect the human but one day, Chara disappeared and Asriel to.
So Sans have the mission to find them.

Searchtale is an alternative where monsters could once materialized their souls and weapons but this technique once lost after the war between humans and monsters .... Several years later a human fell into the underground, it was collected by Asriel the prince.
They became friendly, she met Sans and Papyrus who were the children of Gaster the royal scientist. Sans is mature enough had the mission of protecting the human Chara of unhealthy people who wanted to use it as a weapon. But one day Chara disappeared, Asriel asked without to find it. Sans doing it was looking for monsters controlled and filled with love and snatching her right arm. Wounded he returned to see asriel explaining to him what happened. Asriel left his side to look for Chara but he disappeared in turn ... the underground had lost two very important children to save them all. Sans looking for a way to save them found the old techniques used before the war. He used them and he found his missing arm which was his soul materialized into a destructive weapons to destroy people composed of love (those who removed Chara and surely Asriel)
