Description I couldn't find a good reference sheet in English for Zeon's uniforms, so I made one. I'm not really good at reading Japanese or familiar with military ranks, so please let me know if I made any mistakes so I can correct them.

There are a few things to note about the uniforms:
Most high-ranking officers' uniforms have epaulettes (tassels) on the shoulders but I omitted them on the sheet.
The antenna-like parts on the chest emblem designs of high ranked officers go over the shoulder
The neck collar design is only the left half of the full version; the wing-like part goes under the chin.
Zeon is the army of Special Snowflakes.

The Earth Federation is pretty strict about uniforms but Zeon...? It was like every other person was compelled to put a unique spin on their uniform by changing the colours, altering the helmets and Normal Suits, adding things to the cloaks/mantles, not wearing parts of it (the rank identifying parts)...

It's no wonder that Char stuck out so badly as Quattro. He was the only one who insisted on having the female-style uniform top in his signature red (to show off his arms?) when just about everyone else wore normal uniforms.

Also: All these drawings are vector, so I can supply the giganto versions if anyone needs them.

I just came across this and have to give you a tip of my hat.

I've been trying to figure out some things about Zeon uniforms, and this is the best collar/chest/cape reference I've found.  And I think you made a good point in your description; they don't seem to be strict at all about uniforms.

I've been trying to do some research for a cosplay, and there's no uniformity between the Space Force, Earth Assault Force, Ground forces, etc.  Most of the ground troops seem to have the grunt green (not to mention the apparently uniform black waist jacket with an ascot), but some aces have kakhi fatigues which look more like EFF uniforms but with a red collar and gold trim.  Then just in 0079 you have Zeon naval officers in Red, Blue, Black, and Green uniforms.

So apparently once your name matters, your uniform doesn't.

That part about the Zeon constantly wearing unique versions of their uniforms... Would that mean that if I were to draw a zeon soldier wearing black instead of green suits, it wouldn't be off...? Also, do they still wear cloaks past captoin, or do you basically fall out of uniform from there? Because it would be cool to draw a Zeon general with a black suit, and a caption's cloak. I just didn't know if that was in the realm of realism, for how these uniforms work.

Sorry for the late reply.

Black wouldn't look out of place, I think. Ghiren Zabi was a General with black as his main uniform colour and CCA Char used red. As for the mantles/capes, there are various kinds but only ones we see wearing them are in that Captain to Ensign range.

On the other hand, it looks like characters with Ace status get to do whatever they want to their uniforms while grunts (like Bernie from 0080) tend to stick to the standard green. If the character you're drawing is an eccentric high-ranked character then they absolutely could decide to wear their old Captain's mantle over their current General uniform. It would just mean people would get confused and think they're just a Captain (since they can't see the General emblem with the mantle covering it).
