Dusk was approaching and it got quiet, only the wind rustled in the buds and leaves of the tall trees. The dark forest was wrapped in the shimmering blue light of the moon. On the horizon you could imagine the last rays of the setting sun. This was the time to pull on. Slowly the dark doe stood up and stepped out of her hiding place. About the day she had hidden between bushes and branches, and slept a little. She walked only at night, here it was an advantage to have a dark coat. She was one with the night and disappeared in the dark shadows.
The biting wind was still carrying the cold of winter and in the frost pierced deep into marrow and bone. But Alia did not dare light a fire, it would only draw unwanted attention to her. Even if she wandered trough this land just for a couple of days and never before entered this country, the thoughts of the stories, which were told her about the Blackwoods alone made her shudder.
The inhabitants of this land are tall, dark
