Description Contest entry: Mika and Kenai-part two
Kenai-16
Mika-13
Mika roamed the hallways of the fire palace. Her Mother and Father had gone out to Be Sing Se to settle trading agreements with the Earth King there. She stepped outside into the gardens and sat on a nearby bench. She put her face in her hands with pure boredom. Ever since her Father left she really wasn’t learning fire bending, only practicing, and because she pretty much surpassed most of the guards at the palace her only real challenge was her brother. She shot her head up and looked over to the arena. A huge devious smile crossed her face, she got up and darted towards the palace. She ran up four flights of stairs to her brother’s room. When she got there she pounded her fist upon the door and waited very impatiently. After about five seconds she pounded on the door again only to have the door ripped open. Kenai stood there glaring at his sister trying to rub the sleep from his eyes.
“Its noon and your just now getting up?!” Mika asked crossing her arms over her chest.
“….” Kenai was silent, still glaring at his younger sister.
Mika rolled her eyes “ I forgot, you don’t wake with the sun.” She said skipping into her brother’s room.
“What would you like Mika?” he was now awake and a bit aggravated, he didn’t like his sister in his room.
“I’m bored.” She stated plainly putting her head against his wall. “And I want a rival. The guards are far to behind me to be considered as competition.” She pouted at her brother and gave him big puppy dog eyes, there’s no way he could resist that.
“Humph. Not after you threw the fireball at me last night under the dinner table.” He crossed his arms.
“Please Kenai! Please please please!” She gave an innocent smile and walked up to Kenai and threw her arms around her brother giving him a big hug.
“Fine. But don’t think I fell for that fake smile” He rolled his eyes squirmed to get from her grasp. “Now leave and let me change” he walked over to his dresser and pulled out his training pants.
Kenai came out from his room sliding his flask around his shoulder. Still a little tire he yawned looking around for his sister. She was down the hall juggling fire in her hands. He walked over to her and said,
“Where are we practicing?”
“The arena.” She extinguished her fireballs and stood up to meet her brother’s chin. Even though she was tall for her age she had to look up at her brother.
Kenai turned his heal and walked back to his room, “No.”
Mika ran up in front of him, “Why?!”
“Mom doesn’t like us in there.” He stepped around her and headed back to his room.
She ran in front of him again and tackled him to the ground. She sat on his stomach weighing him down. She knew he wouldn’t push her off because it might hurt her, and he was too nice to do that. “Your such a mamas boy Kenai. Just break some rules, its not like they’ll ever find out, they’re in Be Sing Se.” She looked to her brother who was trying to wiggle from her grasp again.
“I am not a mamas boy! I just don’t want mom to get upset, heck she scares me more than dad does sometimes.” He said finally sitting up and getting up from beneath his sister.
“Whatever mamas boy.” She whispered to herself but loud enough for him to hear it.
“Stop it.” He said looking back at her.
“That’s alright, you’re probably just afraid to fight me.” Mika said in a taunting tone. She was using reverse psychology. She didn’t think her brother would fall for it because he used it all the time but then her stopped dead in his tracks.
He turned his heal, “okay. But in the arena I get a basin of water.” He walked outside and down toward the arena. Mika smiled to herself and ran after her brother.
-----
When Mika walked into the arena Kenai was bending water from the nearby pump into a basin. She walked over to the other side of the arena. She put her hair into two loose braids on either side of her head. She looked over to her brother.
“Are you ready?” she had to yell a bit for him to hear her.
“Are you?” was his response.
Mika stood and stepped into her stance, Kenai followed her actions and got in his stance. Mika slowly brought her leg up into a kick and punched the ground with her fist. Kenai has seen this move before, it sends a blast of fire through the ground. He quickly drew water from his basin and splashed it on the ground and froze it. The fire turned to steam on the ground. Kenai then drew the water from the ground and formed an ice ball and with one swift movement from his arms the ball shot towards Mika and shattered into little ice shards. Mika brought her arms up and a wall of fire followed her hands, she pushed forward sending the wall towards her brother, melting his ice in the path.  He drew more water from his basin and pushed it at her fire. The two walls collided and sent a huge puff of steam. Mika took this to her advantage. Mika gave a side kick along with throwing a punch. Fire coming from both attacks shot threw the steam. Just before Kenai was burnt he bended a water wall, but with the force of her attack he was forced back. The next thing was the most terrifying thing he had ever heard.
"MIKA YUU!!!!" a familiar voice sounded, but more harsh than usual.
The two sibling stopped dead in their tracks. The steam had left the area to reveal a not to happy Katara, and Zuko with a smirk stretching his futures
Mika gulped.
"Kenai Ta, i give you a single responsibility when me and your father left, and what do you do? You come into the arena and play with you sister!" katara was very upset
"Hun, its alright." he regretted talking
"Its alright?" Katara asked scarcely calm.
"well neither of them are injured." He stated gesturing toward the children.
"Daddy im sorry, but i wanted to practice where all the masters battle. Please forgive me." She bowed and gave him an innocent smile. he rubbed her head
"its alright, lets go in shall we?" He walked with his daughter to the palace.
"Kenai." Katara called her son
"y-yes mother." he stuttered
Katara tried to keep a straight face, she smiled. "Tell me you were winning against you sister." She asked her son while walking with him to the palace.
Kenai looked down then at his mother, "She’s gotten good." He smiled faintly.
"Next time," She leaned in to whisper, "lock her in an orb of ice."
Kenai just looked at his mom
She just smiled and entered the palace.

LATER ON THAT NIGHT AT DINNER (totally random)
"i just don’t see why they cant practice in the arena." zuko asked before taking a sip of whine.
"because they are too young. "Katara stated simply.
"Please mommy." her little girl begged.
"your far to young. My answer is no." she said flatly
"No, no, no. You two are welcome to practice in the arena when ever you’d like, after all i can make that discussion." Zuko said matter-of-factly.
Katara just glared at her husband for a second. "I bear you two heirs to the throne and as thanks you disagree with me. For all the pain i went through, this is how you thank me?" Katrara said now turning to face zuko.
"Mom come on! i don’t need to hear this AGAIN!" Mika said covering her ears, not wanting to hear anymore about her bearing children.
"may we be excused?" Kenai asked his father, he just nodded.
The two walked out of the dinning room to their parents bickering. When they closed the door they both stuck their ears to the door listening in.
The fight abruptly stopped, the two looked at each other. Kenai stepped from the door, "Here we go again" he said rolling his eyes.
"Gods, they are sooo wrong." Mika said cringing
They both went up to their rooms leaving their parents to themselves.
