What would you wish for...?

So, the story is:

In the small town of Rosewood lived two people. Triste the Tailor and Bernadette the Tailor's lover. The two were childhood sweethearts and their love flourished as they got older. The two were planning to marry and live for each other after Bernadette pleasantly and unexpectedly got pregnant by Triste, but the town Lord's son wanted to marry Bernadette. Being forced by her parents, Bernadette took herbs to terminate her child, despite Triste offers to run off and elope. One day without warning when Bernadette and the Lord's son went away to plan their wedding, the town was pillaged, attacked, and destroyed by warriors in a brutal kingdom in the mountains that has been trying to claim Rosewood as territory. Most of the people in the town died, including Triste. With no other option, Bernadette married the Lord's son.

A year after her marriage, Bernadette is miserable everyday of her life, up to the point where her husband is not allowed to go near her and she has become the Hermit of Rosewood. Rumors about a apparition in the dark forest that will grant any wish for a price catches her attention, making her want to leave the manor, but her husband won't allow her. Desperate, Bernadette accidentally kills her husband in a dispute and sees no other option but to hide inside the forest. Going deep within the forest, Bernadette goes to sleep, but later wakes up to find a giant figure in a fur cloak, a deer skull for a head, and holding a lantern with the bluish/green glow looking down at her. The figure introduces itself as the Wishmaker and asks her what would she wish for. Before she could say, the Wishmaker tells her that the price for any wish is her soul. The Wishmaker also tells her to think carefully and shows that he knows all about her. Taking a moment to herself, Bernadette wishes for her deceased lover, Triste, to come back to life. The doesn't accept her request, angering Bernadette, but offers her an alternative since the dead can't be brought back to life. The alternative that the Wishmaker provides is to exact the last dying wishes for all the souls (the souls are in his lantern) that died the tragic day Rosewood was attack: To destroy the Northmens so that they may never return and if she does, the Wishmaker will reveal everything she has ever wanted. Bernadette accepts even thought it will cost her her soul.

In the end, The Wishmaker reveals himself to be Triste and how he had taken the role of a soul collector from the previous soul collector in order to see Bernadette one last time and to show them the soul of their unborn child that always hovers next to him. Bernadette is given one year before her soul is taken, making her take refuge and make a home in the woods so that she may be with Triste. After a full year, Bernadette's soul is separated from her body and follows Triste and the soul of their unborn child for all eternity.
