Will's Christmas present a pet snake! A juvenile Darwin Carpet Python called Slytherin.The 'top end' or 'Darwin' carpet python (Morelia spilota variegata) is one of seven subspecies of the carpet python. This medium-sized python (to 1.8m) is a fast grower that may start out a bit on the snappy side, but in time generally becomes quite confident and easy-going, and quite amenable to handling. Top-end carpets definitely make a good choice of snake species for the entire family. It is a very attractive subspecies that is highly variable in colouration.
