Reminds me of something from StarCraft, or perhaps Left 4 Dead. I don't know, it looks like a video game enemy of some kind. I love it! :3

Great character design . Love the detailing and use of fabric to offset the exposed raw flesh areas. She's very ambiguous in feel, she could either be kind and elegant or cold and lethal. Anyways awesome work Austen

Cheers man, had the idea that she's wrapped in some sort of alien bio-suite - that elongates and changes her features slowly, and provides protection and long life.

Sounds good, gotta get on that
If you dont mind me asking, what is your process for rendering detail?
Do you lay out your basic elements first, then go over with detail?
or do you go straight to detail and work your way around the image like that?
I ask because I find a lot of what I draw jsut looks simple with out of place detailing slapped on top of it

Your best bet is always to do the basic shape and form first, then get the details sorted out later. In the past I've done the other way, or done sketching in my sketchbook and then taken it further digitally, but it's always harder to know what works and what doesn't when you've spent time detailing something as you're more attached to it. Remember that if something works as a loose sketch or thumbnail, composition or character concept - it will work on the big scale. Good luck with your future stuff and thanks!
