Description
(READ THE DESCRIPTION)I drew this guy
He's not an idea I came up with
He's a monster of mine in a nightmare I first had
Here is the story
"I woke in on the couch"
"Saw the door open but looked outside and saw my parents saying there going somewhere, and left me home alone"
"I was scared and ran to the couch screaming with tears and gone onto the couch drawing stick figures of my and my parents"
"And when I looked around up to my left, that is when I saw the monster. The shadow figure of mine"
"He screamed at me and I was so scared and shocked with tears I screamed with fear"
"After I woke up I can only remember, that on the fridge. The picture of me crying to the couch in front of me"
"It scared me and I keep on remembering that repetitively in my memories..."
That is why he isn't an oc of mine
Just a monster of mine in the nightmare...
What do you think...

From what I can gather, A shadow person (also known as a shadow figure, shadow being or black mass) is the perception of a patch of shadow as a living, humanoid figure, particularly as interpreted by believers in the paranormal or supernatural as the presence of a spirit or other entity.
A number of religions, legends, and belief systems describe shadowy spiritual beings or supernatural entities such as shades of the underworld, and various shadowy creatures have long been a staple of folklore and ghost stories.

It is unknown how it came into your dream, since it seems like a Freddy Krueger-like thing to happen, but sometimes there is possible explanations:
Several physiological and psychological conditions can account for reported experiences of shadowy shapes seeming alive. A sleep paralysis sufferer may perceive a "shadowy or indistinct shape" approaching them when they lie awake paralyzed and become increasingly alarmed. Neuroscientists Baland Jalal and V.S. Ramachandran have recently proposed neurological theories for why people hallucinate shadow figures during sleep paralysis.
A person experiencing heightened emotion, such as while walking alone on a dark night, may incorrectly perceive a patch of shadow as an attacker.
Many methamphetamine addicts report the appearance of "shadow people" after prolonged periods of sleep deprivation. Psychiatrist Jack Potts suggests that methamphetamine usage adds a "conspiratorial component" to the sleep deprivation hallucinations. One interviewed subject said that "You don't see shadow dogs or shadow birds or shadow cars. You see shadow people. Standing in doorways, walking behind you, coming at you on the sidewalk." These hallucinations have been directly compared to the paranormal entities described in folklore.[

Understood. I know this monster scared me that much as a child.
But one last thing I want you to question...
What did the shadow figure want for me when it was screaming at me on the stairs?

Maybe it is trying to speak or just wanted to vocalize it's emotions.
