I ended up with two Raritys from McDonald's 2012 line of toys and decided to customize one into my own pony Keynote. The project required carving Rarity's mane off and rebuilding parts of the head, front hoof (for better shape) and tail with Sculpey clay. It took me an embarrassingly long amount of time to find the exact colors for this one. I hate working with green okay? I just do!Keynote's tiny key necklace is hand fashioned from an earring backing and is almost exactly 1cm in length.
The hardest part was painting her cutie mark. I knew I'd put too much detail into it ||OTL

How did you get her mane and tail off so cleanly? I'm going to be working with an extra Cheerilee. Do you just use an exacto knife, or what?

Yep, just a normal curved blade X-acto knife. This plastic is really weird though, so please be careful. Sometimes it needed a lot of pressure to get through but other areas the knife glided right in easy and shot out the other side OnO I guess that just goes to show how cheaply these things are made. Fine grit sand paper smooths any rough edges easily.
I'd love to see the final product when you finish!

I only have a straight one. Does that still work? Also, how did you get the tail out? Sorry for all the questions, I've never customized a McD's pony before.

I think a straight one will work fine, it's just a preference of mine to work with curved. And I actually couldn't get the tail out... I ended up cutting it short then pulling the little bits out with pliers/tweezers. Those tails are really stuck in tight. It was my first time customizing one of these as well so I probably made it a lot more difficult than it had to be

I might just poke it back in after cutting it real short. then sculpting over. *shrugs*

Haha well usually it's only under my breath when I'm alone xD I'm also one of those people who edits myself mid-word, for example the other day at the store I was talking to a friend and a little kid suddenly wandered into the aisle so I was like "That's bullshi- shark! Total Bullshark." xD
