Description
FallingFalling
My eyes fall…
Upon your foot
Bouncing up and falling again
Onto your knees, your waist,
Then spiral around your face
Like a basketball around the rim
And…swish!
Into your eyes I fall
Deep into a bottomless pit
That is lit up eternally
When you look back
My hand, unknowing
Steals my breath from me
And holds it out to you
But you don’t take it
You turned it back
And looked away
As if we were one and now we are through
Like where my windpipe splits in two
And then I realize
That you did me a favor
You see
I need my eyes with me
Not lost in a bottomless beauty
But yet, I wonder, and maybe I even hope
That I’ll never be able to breathe again
The next time my eyes fall out

Nice I like most of the descriptive words. However the only thing i thought that kind of took away from the romanticism of it was the reference of the whole basketball thing. Then again im not a big fan of basketball so i guess i cant talk. All in all a great poem. Well done.

OOOO!! I like, I like!!
It is still distressing, and I'm hoping you weren't slashed, unmendable by such a thing. The poetry of the words is beautiful, and stunning. A lot like the bottomless pools of beauty mentioned in your poem.

Aww. Maybe I'm being too optimistic here, but, perhaps, one day you will.

Come on. I've already accepted that there's nobody out there for me. Why can't you?

Because I don't believe that fate it possible. I'm a dreamer and an oportunist. I feel that there is someone out there if you are willing to open yourself to that possibility. You're an amazing person, from what I can tell, and any girl would be a fool if they did not see that. I just know that there is someone waiting, once you accept that. I'm not saying you can accept that possibility at this time, or even that you will in a year, but eventually you will see.

The problem with opportunism is that sometimes you, rather than see the reality, see what "should" "rather" be. Unless I have my understanding of your idealism wrong?

Yes, that can be true. However, I should have also added optimistic (which makes a difference!).

Optimism is very similar. It avoids seeing the bad side of things.

I suppose it does to some extent. But everyone cannot be optimistic at every moment in time. Optimism still leaves room to be sad, to be stressed, anxious. The difference between someone who is optimistic and someone who is pesimistic or negative is the fact that happiness comes easily. When we feel trouble or anxious over anything, we manage to overcome those negative effects of gloom and look to brighter sides. So I guess I have to say you are right, but at the same time, you are wrong. We do see the bad side, it's just we can avoid the situation, when really we shouldn't.
