It pays to go off the beaten path. There are several paved trails wandering around Eagle Lake Park in Largo, Florida, and one of them takes you past this creepy-looking old-growth oak. At some point in its life, it toppled from its place by a small pond and then just started growing straight upward. It makes for an eerie looking old tree, and more than one passerby has told me that when they post pictures of this tree on Facebook, the photo begins asking them for tags of friends, leading many to call this "The Haunted Tree."
