In the events of the second book, Guardian Into Darkness, the question of her role in history came up from of all people, a history teacher-imagine that! She recounted briefly how she could not end the institution as it was humanity's place to change itself, but she did not turn a blind eye, allowing herself to be captured on multiple occasions to turn the tables and free the slaves of a ship, auction house, etc. I created this picture using AI of her being captured by Barbary Pirates (who kidnapped and enslaved between 1-1.25 million Europeans.)
