But that would also mean Zelda not learning all those mad Sheikah skills through hard effort and training (like she originally did in Ocarina of Time in order to survive, thanks to Impa), which, let's face it, is a better way to develop Zelda's character than have her take the easy way out. And there's also the name; Only Zelda could have come up with it, because who in their right mind would call themselves after their OWN tribe, with a few letters removed?

Yeah. I find this fairly unique. It's something different from the norm. The Manga explanation where she becomes a guy is also interesting imo. I don't mind the Sheik is a cross-dressing Zelda (with binded breasts and armor over that) idea though either. The only thing I don't care for is the Sheik is a wholly separate individual but with no ties to Zelda (besides maybe serving her) idea that a LOT of fanfiction writers like to use which I find boring, lol.
I like when people have Zelda be Sheik but yet still be able to create a twist on that in some way (whether it's the spirit of a dead warrior through a mask, magical gender change or cross-dressing Princess). To me, it manages to use Zelda in some form anyway. I consider that very creative with just how far you can push those particular ideas while respecting what's already canon within the game. Plus, it's a bit on the strange and bizarre side which is cool with me.
Sheik seems to generate quite the controversy when it comes to gender among people.
