Ni’a Eu’onn was born in the slums of Ma'aleca'andra, Mars to a white martian family. Among her 11 sisters and 8 brothers, she was the youngest of them all, this naturally prompted her to grow up as the pipsqueak in the family. Unlike the rest of her species, Ni’a was born with no telepathic abilities, brought on by an ancient and rare illness during pregnancy, and was unable to access the basic form of Martian telepathy or telekinesis. Since she was unable to initiate or join psychic links, Ni’a grew up with little to no friends. To add more to her hard life, Ni’a was a white martian, the second class race to the green martian majority, and was constantly subjected to racism from both sides. Green martians didn’t accept her for being a white martian, and white martians frowned upon her for having an inferior mind and saw her as weak.
Her father despised Ni’a for not being powerful and disabled. She hated him, and refused to acknowledge him. Her mother did love and care for her, but was embarrassed by her and often refused to acknowledge her in public. Her older siblings hated her, while the ones closer in age did like her, but treated her like dirt in public and around others, only being nice to her in their home.
Constantly getting told that she would amount to nothing and that she was weak by both Martian races, Ni’a started to exercise the other abilities she did have, mainly shapeshifting, thinking that she still could be powerful despite lacking telepathy. In just a short while, Ni’a became a master at extending her limbs or growing new ones and all humanoid forms of shapeshifting at 12 earth years and at 13, was able to shift density, despite it being categorized as an advanced ability. She became incredibly agile and quick on her feet, as well as her reaction time and reflexes enhanced to their peak. Sadly it wasn’t enough. Ni’a was still treated the same, realizing she’d never be treated equally because of her handicap. Time went on and more rejection led to more and more anger growing inside of her, and one day, she snapped.
Having had enough of all of Mars’ shit, Ni’a decided to become a criminal. She broke laws, toyed with authority, disrespected the government, and basically caused havoc on Mars for a little more than 2 Earth years (early 2015 to mid 2017). The Martian Royalty hated her and a good portion of Mars had come to fear her. M'gann M'orzz heard about this young girl and her story. Seeing how Ni'a was so young, personally brought her to Earth in hopes to rehabilitate her. Ni’a was put on the team in October of 2017, where she was put under the watch of Miss Martian and Martian Manhunter. After a short while she was given the role of Miss Martian's protégé, Mistress. She hated both of them at first, but eventually developed respect for J’onn and love for M’gann. She is currently a public hero on Beast Boy’s team, and lived with M'gann and Conner until she moved into The Outsiders pad. She also attends Happy Harbor High School and is dating another member of the Team, Query.
When Beast Boy forms the Outsiders during s3, Ni'a does not hesitate to join the team as she wasn't gonna let it be "an all human team." She reaches the point of Beast Boy's second in command by the end of the season.

Ni’a comes off as very unapproachable most often than not, seeming to not really care about others and their feelings. She’s constantly throwing mean or sarcastic comments your way and it seems like she's trying to hurt you, but the truth is she's really not. She's actually very lonely but because of all the scorn and disapproval she experienced on Mars, she tends to think the safest place is alone. Her cold and tough exterior is a way to cover up and hide her fragile and insecure interior, seeming super punk rock but would cry if anyone hugged her. Ni’a is also terrified of never being a good friend or a good anything and has a lot of self esteem issues.
After spending time with the team and M'gann, Ni'a has become very open and welcoming. Her personality did a complete 180 as being exposed to love and praise has turned the girl into who she was meant to always be. She's truthful, validating, and supporting, and would not hesitate to protect her loved ones from anything that threatens them. She still retains a bit of her bratty and needy nature, but is much more approachable than when she first came to Earth.

• Advanced Shapeshifting: Like all Martians, Ni’a can shapeshift. Because of her lack of mental abilities, she’s spent more time perfecting this skill than other Martians.
- Biomorphing: Ni’a can change her form on a cellular level, completely altering her physical appearance allowing her to mimic other people, animals, and other creatures. Her power is not restricted to humanoid forms as she can grow several extra arms and gills to breathe underwater. Like Miss Martian, she can also change her blood type to match a humans.
- Elasticity: Ni’a can stretch and bend her body and limbs (e.g. into large whips to grab things at great distance). Ni’a is also obviously flexible to a superhuman level.
- Regenerative Healing: Her shapeshifting allows her to heal faster than a human would.
- Density Shifting: An advanced technique, density shifting enables Martians to move through solid objects or become incredibly dense and difficult to damage.
- Camouflage: Ni’a can change the appearance of her form (and her clothes) to bend the light waves around her to match with her surroundings, making her almost invisible. Her chances of staying undetected are diminished if she is moving.
- Enhanced Agility: Ni’a’s fighting style directly relates to her shape-shifting and elasticity. She’s described as being “hard to catch, hard to hold, and hard to hit.”
• Athleticism: Ni’a’s physical attributes are at the peak for her humanoid form.
- Hand-to-hand Combat: Ni’a’s hand-to-hand combat isn’t as good as some of her teammates, but she can hold her own in a fight. Though not a powerful hitter, Ni’a’s uses her training to deliver hits in rapid succession.
- Acrobatics/Parkour: One would describe Ni’a as an eel when it comes to fighting. Agility and flexibility are her strong suits so she has a high amount of acrobatic ability to fuel it. She’s also an expert in free-running and parkour as it helps her keep up with her faster teammates.
- Reflexes: Ni’a’s reflexes are at their peak due to her self-training and training from other team members.
- Endurance: Ni’a is able to take hit after hit and deliver hit after hit. Some would compare her to an inflatable punching bag the way she won’t stay down.

- Resistance to Extreme Cold: Ni’a can survive in sub-zero temperatures with little-to-no protective clothing.
- Enhanced Durability: Like all Martians, N’ia's body is denser than a humans but not nearly as durable as a Kryptonian, but because of her mastery over her cellular form, Ni’a can immediately change her body’s density and malleability to take heavier hits than most Martians. She’s described as being able to “take it but not dish it.” Martians are also immune to human diseases.
- High Intelligence: Ni’a is surprisingly intelligent in terms of book smarts, battle smarts, and common sense, just no one takes her seriously cause she’s high a lot. She’s able to notice small details and is a decent strategist in battle as well, which is why Beast Boy chose her as his second in command for the Outsiders.

Weaknesses:
- No Telepathic/Telekinetic Abilities: Ni’a may be a Martian, but she lacks the standard telepathic mind a Martian is born with. Her mind is exactly like a humans in terms of mental power.
- Mind Control: Without telepathy, Ni’a is more susceptible to mind-control due to her low self-esteem and weaker mind.
- Low Physical Strength: Because she lacks telekinesis, Ni’a is unable to use it to augment her strength to superhuman levels like other Martians can. She can compensate for this by shapeshifting into a bigger form with more muscle, but it’s much more limited than the rest of her species. Ni’a also prefers a slim form with little muscle as it benefits her fighting style.
- Organic Clothing: Ni’a is unable to mentally communicate with her organic clothing like a normal Martian would. Her suit is only programmed to conform to her body and she’s unable to change its appearance. While she can shapeshift into human disguises, she either has to put on actual clothing or make fake clothing out of skin which grosses her out.
- Fire/Extreme Heat: Ni’a can be weakened when exposed to direct heat or fire.
- Extreme Pressure: A Martian's physiology is susceptible to pressure.
- Tank Fighters: Ni’a is a fighter that can take it but not dish it out. Because of said lack of strength, she instead deals small hits in rapid succession. This can be rather useless when fighting tanks or other fighters with increased durability.
- New to Teamwork: Since she was a criminal on Mars, Ni’a was never a team player. Preferring to work alone due to her past, she originally doesn’t play nice with others. As of s4 she has greatly improved, but still challenges the plans on occasion.
- Authority: Ni’a’s ‘stick it to the man’ attitude often clashes when it comes to working as a team. After joining the Outsiders, she puts in genuine effort to learn to respect Beast Boy as a leader. It was easier for her since they're all around similar ages, whereas she still has trouble respecting her elders.
- Immature: Ni’a is still a teenager with a childish sense of humor. Her immaturity on and off the field often annoys those working with her.

- Upon coming to Earth, Ni’a chose 2004-era Avril Lavinge as her human form. However, M’gann told her that wouldn’t fly as she was too famous and it would create confusion. Ni’a chose a random face from a magazine afterwards, but kept the blonde hair. She also took on many aspects of Avril’s personality and style during s3, like how M’gann did with Megan in s1. By s4 she’s developed her own style, but keeps the iconic pink streak in her hair.
