The first impression I got seeing that picture was - why am I here and not there, in the winter snow?
First things first: Looking at this photo I can almost feel snow flakes on my skin, hear the soothing snow under my shoes. I almost shiver in the cold and clear air around me, the way (even though its cleared) lays empty lonesome before me.
The ambient is tranquil, peaceful. The worldly noise that surrounds us everyday vanished completely and makes place a very calm mood.
Those are the feelings that the picture summs up in me.
I really fell in love with the picture. Winter draws awesome scenes and you really managed to capture that in one single shot. Snow is always a good photo opportunit but this image one stands out. I think it is also because of the colours, They really match with each other - oh, yet the scenery is cold they almost seem to be warm and comforting. Plus, the shadows of the surrounding trees make me feel guarded and round of the photo in the middle of it. The image seems to show a place in the world were everything is calm and peaceful, yet very lonely.
The angle of the photo is simple but suitable. The picture also shows different attractions that lead the eye: On the one hand there is the light from a lamp behind some trees, that had my main focus, on the other hand there is the way you took the picture on and third, there are small steps in the right side which suggest another way.
Actually I dont even have any critique - you could have improved the picture with some more branches, adding a deeper depth, but I'm not even sure that it wouldnt be too much.
I really think that the picture is very well done & that you make more pictures that are imaginatively stimulating like that!

Fantastic shot. It really does look like something out of The Nutcracker or a winter wonderland. The lighting is beautifully balanced with the shadows. There is one spot that has a bit of a different color. Is that because of the light's reflection?
