for a university project I am working on this year. It's a story set in the past, at the beginning of the universe. A highly developed intelligent species who discover they are not the only tribe on their planet.Related content

Hehe, yeah, it's a bit of a juxtaposition 
I have already changed my story a little though. The plot is no longer discovering other tribes on their planet.
It is trying to find a new planet to inhabit somewhere else in the universe/multiverse as the star their planet is orbiting,
is dying, and the only way to sustain life on their planet is through these portals that Almandine has opened all over then planet.
these portals supply their planet with warmth and light from other stars in teh universe whilst at the same time
giving them the opportunity to search for inhabitable planets orbiting these foreign stars 
an outside antagonist at some point, but not sure if the story will have reach that point before deadline XD

It's a good juxtaposition though -the futuristic aspect creates possibility, while the past aspect suggests their fate is already written.
