EDIT 11/12/06: Background redone due to looking messy, sloppy, and just plain U-G-L-Y! Forgot that a couple of layers were still hidden and did not show up when image was flattened, so went back to fix that. Played with coloring the lineart some to emphasize some of the highlighting AND to also give Danny a more ghostly glow.

Though I haven't watched Danny Phantom, but you've done a really great rendition of this character I love the glowy effect And great colouring too even though this was originally your old piece! Exellent I

the blue ring is technically old....it was on the original file but i had it hidden for some other work, don't ask me what, and i forgot to un-hide it before i flattened for the jpg. *feels like an idiot* there were a couple of other layers like that too that i had some good fx on that i forgot to un-hide. but since i knew something was wrong unconsciously that i found all my f-ups. i'm definately happier now with it.

i don't watch the show... bit i like his coloring

to add more to the "glowing green light" effect, you might consider putting green highlights on him too.

sadly enough, i did just that. but i think 1 they got washed out and 2 became miniscule due to having lowered the image size. i probably didn't go to bed until 5am this morning cuz i was in those "have to get this done" moods. and my husband kept pestering me that the white parts weren't white enough and i tried to explain to him that even white has shadows falling over it like everything else and he still said it wasn't white enough *looks over to the cat which is white which has shadows all over him, especially since he's sitting in direct light* heh, i even used the cat as an example "darkness! here! the cat has shadows on him! some light still some shadows! bright omgfystfu light! hey! still some f'ing shadows!" the cat is kinda masochistic and likes being tossed and thrown and spun around like last night. o.O;;;

i might give putting the highlights directly onto the lineart a go and see if that helps.

re finishing things late at night: i SO know that feeling. this summer, when i was in russia and most contests' deadlines of "midnight est" meant "8 am" for me, i'd stay up the whole night finishing things. and it was both fun and unfun at the same time.

re lineart: yeah, that's actually a good idea! especially in the white hair, i think that would look really good.

btw, what's the source of the white light that is falling on his outfit?

white: the primary light source. i was trying to go with working on multiple light sources with this piece.

i'm going to go try and adjust the pic. then i've got to go start a new project. the wheels in my head need something to grind against.

white is not a really good color for a lightsource... it desaturates pictures. you're good here because you have another lightsource that balances it out, but in general white is baaaad.

ooh, new project!

I fixed the image. I realized that I screwed up a couple of other things too. See description. But it's good now! I'm a lot happier with this pic now.
