A Work in progress of a painting I'm finishing for a friend. It's turning out better than I had originally anticipated. I think that's due to the fact that I'm learning as I go, and I'm trying to take a few risks with this. Suffice it to say, the female figure has been painted three times already. It's teaching me a lot about patience and dedication when it comes to creativity. I cannot just throw paint on a canvas and say "I have talent, therefore this is good". No. This is about 15 - 20 hours of work. And most of this is withough photo reference... even the part that is isn't that convincing. I'm just glad Jonathan isn't going to hold it against me if the final piece is lacking in artistic credibility. heheheIt's going to the scrap bin soon enough. I just wanted you all to see...

I think this is coming along great!
I really like the city skyline, and how the woman's body kind of blend's into and becomes part of the guitar body.

Do the heirogylphs in the middle mean anything? Or is it random shapiness?
The layout is very interesting, and I like the colour choices, they subtle, but balance with each other nicely

the hieroglyph is his own choosing. He gave me that symbol and asked me to work around it, which I have done. I'm finishing up a lot of it today. I'll be sure to show the finished piece upon completion!!!

it is great...traditional art has a touch that cannot be reproduced by digital photomanipulation (to my misfortune)
