Aha... So those are big teeth and not proboscuses (sp). I'd been wondering about that. It seems kind of odd, though, that the extended tooth structure would force the mouth to remain always open - I can't see how that would be an evolutionary advantage as such, unless we're seeing a cross-species spontaneous mutation in its earliest stages or something.

Of the helicimperator, what is the purpose of the semi curled toothlike appendage? it has shades of Helicoprion, which science really doesn't understand the purposeof IT'S spiraled jaws. So I'm curious of your take.
The gildaemon doruglossum, by appearance, one would assume it theirs would aid it in digging through the sand, searching for burried shellfish, yes?

They're both planktivores, actually. Gildadaemon is believed to use its tooth for gouging out tissue from large gelatinous organisms.
