Description Late Devonian placoderms:

The ravenous tyrant of the late Devonian seas, Dunkleosteus telleri prepares to seize its slightly smaller cousin Gorgonichthys clarki, while a school of Ctenurella gladbachensis ptyctodonts swim by. The ptyctodonts Rhynchodus major (top), and Ptyctodus compressus (below) linger around for scraps. A pair of Asterolepis ornata antiarchs scatter.

Fish with eyebones; what great wonders have come and gone over the last five or six hundred million years.

Not so much as "eye bones" as "bony eyes"

Exelent choice for coloring! The Cobalt Blue effect on the big "Dunk" seems appropriate to its armor.

Placoderms were interesting fish from an evolutionary standpoint. It would have been neat to see what they would have evolved into, (As Nemo pointed out earlier) seeing that they had many unique traits to the rest of vertebrata.
Are those eyes parted in fours? (Possibly to change the light aperture?)

Indeed, it would be wondrous to think of what they could have become had they survived to the present.

And as far as I know, it's not so much divided as they are seams of bony plates (their eyeballs were ossified)
