Bio: Cole Morgenster was born in a dirty little slum in Atlanta, Georgia, to an abusive family which consisted of a mother with Stockholm Syndrome, and a father who could care less about the family and regularly beat them. He had a few siblings too, but none of them survived to adulthood for one tragic reason or another. Growing up in never ending fear, Morgenster learned how to survive fast, survive enough at least. He learned to hide and deceive to either get out of a sticky situation or get what he wanted. When he was 14, he tried running away from home by hitching a ride on a train, but his father managed to catch up with him. He was expecting to be dragged back home, but instead he simply received another pounding, this one more brutal than any other, and then his father tossed him aside. His father suddenly started screeching and demanding the boy leave him forever, seemingly terrified or driven mad. The boy hopped back on the train, and he never looked back.

Morgenster went completely off the grid for a while, and his name only resurfaced a year later when he landed a job at Abstergo Industries as a security guard. He was caught hacking into Abstergo's top secret files one day, and he was soon captured by the secret organization behind the company: the Templar Order. But instead of arresting or torturing him, they offered him a deal. They realized how valuable someone skilled enough to just casually break into their servers would be, and so they offered him a place in the Order. Morgenster accepted, the thought of absolute control and ability to commit any crime he wanted without consequence quite appealing to him.

He carried out many small missions at first, but his prime directive slowly turned into locating a Piece of Eden known as the Pick. One of his earliest attempts at finding it resulted in an encounter with two Assassins named Tim and Jen Spainhower in 1988. After a series of musical misadventures, the teenagers defeated Morgenster and shipped the Pick away where they hoped he wouldn't find it. They reached out to Aren Nesher, an Assassin who had experience with both Morgenster and the Pick, and he arrived in Indiana to claim the Pick and take it back to his home in England. Morgenster hunted Aren down for years trying to find the Pick, and the Templars quickly grew tired of what they saw as a pointless Piece. They began cutting off his funds and resources, and eventually Morgenster was forced to conduct his investigations in secret.

Morgenster never did manage to get the Pick back from Aren, but his search eventually led him to the Assassin's daughter, Ava Arlie, in 2015. During Abstergo's “Project Roanoke”, Ava was kidnapped on orders from the Templar, George Lupe. She was forced into an Animus as Morgenster supervised the operation and taunted her from the radio. Ava relived the memories of her Croatoan ancestor, Kahente, but she was soon rescued by her friend, the Assassin Ben Dylan. Morgenster fled the scene and allowed Ava to get rescued, the Piece of Eden in her memories not the one he was looking for anyway.

He continued to cause trouble and chaos from the shadows. He was stationed in Indianapolis later that year after Templar presence in the state was nearly annihilated by the Assassins under Carter Spainhower and Chelsea Patterson. There he encountered Ava, now a well-trained member of the Brotherhood, once again. The two nearly killed each other on multiple occasions, but once Ava's Bleeding Effect went into overdrive and started making her mad, all Morgenster could do was sit back, watch, and laugh mercilessly as he mocked her from the shadows. He later started using the DNA samples he acquired from her to analyze her genetic memories in hopes of finding the Pick of Eden at last.
