Description
A reference sheet for an Assassin's Creed character that I based off of one of my ancestors who fought in the American Revolution
Name: John Pierpoint Montegram Abbott
Born: Dorchester, Maryland; 1758
Died: Greene, Indiana; 1842
Occupation: Patriot soldier
Allegiance: Assassins
Bio: John was born to a family that traveled to America from England a few generations back. Growing up, his parents were always very strict, always enforcing rules and demanding that he do everything perfectly. John quickly grew to hate this lifestyle and wished he could have the freedom that he felt he deserved. In March 1770, he and his parents traveled to Boston to trade various goods. They were interrupted, however, by a few fights that broke out between a few civilians and a few soldiers. The soldiers fired upon the civilians in what would soon be called the Boston Massacre, and killed a percentage of them. This sight inspired John, who was rushed away by his family, with a new sense of rebellion. If those civilians could stand up for freedom, why couldn't he? Three years later, after a lot of thinking, be ran away from his family and started a new life in secret.
As the years passed, John partook in many revolutionary acts against the British with the rest of the population that was rising up. He partook in the Boston Tea Party and a few battles as well. In 1775, he nearly lost his life on the battlefield, but he was rescued by a native man in a white hooded coat, who pulled him away from the battle and brought him to a medic. After the battle, the man came to check on John, who was healing nicely. The man introduced himself as Connor, a member of the Assassin brotherhood. He explained that the Assassins were an organization dedicated to fighting for the freedom of all mankind, and that he thought John would be an excellent addition to the team. After John had some time to think, he eventually agreed to join the Assassins in their fight against tyranny.
John spent the next few years aiding both the Assassins and the Revolutionaries. He mainly partook in the more large-scale events, though he also did some underground work. After the revolution ended and the newly formed United States was victorious, John worked with the Assassins to help ensure that the states would remain free. He eventually married a kind young woman and in 1796, they had two sons, George and Abumblee, who were trained as Assassins and would eventually fight in the War of 1812.
John and his family moved to the new territory of Indiana around 1805 and settled down in the frontier. He stayed in contact with Connor over the years, alerting him of any Templar activity in the territories. His sons eventually set out on there own with their own missions for the brotherhood. John however, preferred to work from home. In 1823, his wife gave birth to their daughter, Priscilla, who would grow to love her parents as much as they loved her and her brothers. John also trained Priscilla in the Assassin's Creed, though not as roughly as her brothers. Priscilla eventually grew up, married, and became pregnant with John's grandson, James. Though John died before the baby was actually born, he was still thrilled to here that his daughter was a mother.

Fun fact! Sailors wore long sleeve thin shirts despite the hot weather to avoid sunburn!
