Description Coming around the tail end of the loop from my return drawing, here we move on to the content that takes place after the events of my novel. This is Dr. Phillis Bonon, Eagle Crest's most premier quantum physicist. At least, that's her day job. By night, the dark underbelly of the city knows her as the Golden Ratio, an extremely powerful superhero with the power to transmute any atom in her body into a different element at will. You see, while operating equipment on Suwarrow University's particle accelerator, Phillis' best friend and lab assistant Esther Brasier was pinned under faulty machinery. Rushing in to save her friend, Phillis got Esther free, but at the cost of being directly in the line of fire of the accelerator's beam. Rushed to the hospital for radiation treatment, Phillis made a miraculous full recovery… and more.

After many awkward scenarios and uncontrollable outbursts, Phillis discovered that the beam had warped her molecular machinery into a living alchemy lab. While initially she sought to cure herself of this ailment, after realizing she could use her powers to help people, she donned a mask and created the persona of the Golden Ratio. Over time, she'll learn to control her powers better, and even improve upon them. All the while she's out patrolling Eagle Crest battling against the superpowered baddies that seem to be emerging from the woodwork. Thankfully, she just might run into a few superpowered friends of her own to even the score…

Design notes, so this is actually a character I made years ago as a high school project originally XD For my Latin class, we were assigned to craft a superhero based on the different letters of the Greek alphabet. I was given the Greek letter Phi, and the first thing that came to my mind was its use in mathematics to denote the Golden Ratio, because apparently I'm that level of nerd, god help me. Ratios of gold got me thinking about alchemy, and so I opted into a character who could become any element she wanted. It was a neat concept, and when I started to explore the world of superhero OCs, I figured I'd return to that old abandoned character and reconstitute her for the Drake Hero universe. I actually have a few other superheroes in my notes, a lot of which are just kind of junk characters from dreams, but I haven't designed any of them yet. I also haven't quite fleshed out the overarching plot, since it's mostly on the back burner. A lot of the plot I do have relies first and foremost on the events of the novel, so before I delve into it, I need to focus on that story first. Maybe one day I'll be able to start my own web comic, who knows. That's for future me to worry about.

Her outfit is meant to be the protective jumpsuit she wore while working in the lab before the accident that gave her her powers. It was heavily inspired by various designs for radiation hazmat suits, just a bit slimmed down. Her lab coat meanwhile serves as her cape, flowing majestically in the wind as I've tried to portray. She is able to use her powers to spawn and despawn her superhero suit at will, same with her mask. Sometimes a hero's gotta get on the move, afterall. No phone booth needed.
