(REUPLOADED)The Life Note Rules:
1. The human whose name is written in this note shall be brought back to life.
2. This note shall not take effect unless the writer has the person's face in their mind when writing his/her name Therefore,
people sharing the same name will not be affected.
3. The person must be currently dead for this Note to take effect.
4. The human brought back to life will live for exactly 23 days, unless counteracted by other means.
5. If, in 40 seconds of writing the human's name, the writer lists specific details of their life, they can control the humans life for up to the 23 day mark.
6. This Note shall become property of the human world upon touching the ground of, or arrives in, the human world.
7. The human in possession of this Note shall be posessed by a Jureigami.

I don't get why the subject only gets 23 extra days of life exactly (meaning they CAN'T die until those 23 days are up and they drop dead again).

they can die by other means before the 23 days is up. they only get 23 days because the last 24 days L was alive,he used to find the real Kira, and therefore anyone brought back only gets 23 days because of that.
