What I imagined a Garo to look like in my own style at the time, way back in the day, when MAJORA'S MASK was still new...
What happened to those guys anyway? Zelda could use ninjas - heck, everything could use ninjas. Missed opportunity, Nintendo.

Well, you have to remember that the Garo only appeared in Termina, which is considered to be an entirely different place/dimension from Hyrule entirely. Plus, the other games have the Sheikah, which are also like ninjas but sadly don't appear very often.
If they were to make a Zelda game that revisited Termina, though, then the absence of these guys would definitely be unforgivable.

Well, yes, that may be true, but since Termina was a mirror-world of Hyrule, in many ways, that might suggest that a mirror version of the Garo are alive and functioning in Hyrule somewhere. This was true for several other characters and concepts introduced in MAJORA'S MASK, most notably Tingle. The guy made his debut in MM, but he has been seen in several games since then, and has appeared as far back in history as SKYWARD SWORD, if the doll on Zelda's desk is any indication...all of which took place in some version of Hyrule, or at least Hyrule's dimension...
...all I'm saying is, Nintendo tends to skimp out on what seems like really good opportunities.

You have a point there. I was expecting a cool character arc with Fi when I first met her in Skyward Sword, but literally the only development she makes in the entire damn game is at the end, and it's pretty out-of-the-blue.
There are a lot of other things in Skyward Sword that I feel were missed opportunities, but I don't think a cool picture like this is the right place to post a big long rant.

Well, I don't mind huge comments as rants, actually, at least when it's something that I'm interested in. Or, you know, rampant trolling or flaming, lol.
I was kinda disappointed with Fi. She had such potential to outshine the likes of Midna or at least match her in originality and character...and she didn't. And it wasn't because she had a robotic personality, because it's been proven that such characters can steal the limelight from more emotional, well-developed one. And she literally does nothing but dance and spell things out for you.
*sigh* Oh well. Better luck next time.
