Description
Yeah, two in one night.1. Again, obvious. Finale was unsatisfying, as was a vast majority of the rest of the third season...
2. How is he not awesome? (Rhetorical)
3. I HATE HIS GUTS!
4. Zutara FTW
5.
6. I don't care if it may seem gay; anyone who can make doves come out of nowhere and fly behind him dramatically, is aawesome in my book.
7. Buff!Iroh: awesome incarnate.
8. Wang Fire.
9. I don't care if she's only supposed to be 14; it's Grey DeLisle's fault for using her sexiest voice.
10. The screencap nobody sees, because ending the series in the worst way possible is more important than letting children know about death.

You and I have several similar preferences.
Your favourite character is Zuko. So is mine.
You hate Aang. I hate him too.
You dislike Kataang. I do too.
You think Buff!Iroh is awesome. So do I.
You think Wang Fire is funny. Me too.
You think Azula is hawt. I agree.
But we have some differences.
You ship Zutara. I ship Zucest.
You hate Maiko. I sorta ship it.

It's sad to see so many mean comments on someone's art... It's a tv show for crying out loud and don't get me wrong I love it but seriously...
Anyway iroh is the awesome-ist
And for all of y'all out there, before ya leave a mean comment think about it because it makes you look bad to the 1,318 people that has seen this so far

And I should care because? More importantly, why do you care? I admit without reserve that Katara/Aang is canon; doesn't mean I have to like it, let alone support it. So why do you care if I choose something more aesthetically pleasing and emotionally deep?

Calling me a B will not hurt my feelings. All I'm saying is that Zutara was made up from a fangirl's mind. Zuko and Katara had a connection, but they were never together. Zuko loves Mai, Katara likes Aang. Plain and simple. You even saw the Sozin's Comet. And lastly, you are the one who sent me a message in the first place. I don't like Cyberbullying. So just leave me alone.

Oh, so now I'm a cyberbully? For defending my submissions when you come out of nowhere and start whining about not liking it? Soory, but it doesn't work that way. If you don't like something, there's a very simple solution: stay away. Don't even bother showing up if you have nothing constructive to say.

First of all. Without Aang, there would be no Avatar. Zutara was just made up from some drunk person's mind. All of you guys know that Zutara isn't real. So Zutara fans should get a life. The real couple is Kataang and Maiko. So screw the Creator, The meme, and Zutara fans.

'Whooppi-doh look at me telling facts...look!!!' Grow a pair before commenting, Zutara isn't real(gee I didn't know that? Could it be?). So what? What else is there to say about it? Nothing! Cause you don't have any other argument besides telling what's real and what's not real...or maybe you should have used the word canon instead cause there's existence of Zuko/Katara moments, that counts as real so...

Two guys, as in Mike and Bryan. Re-reading your last post, I see now that you meant Aang. Still, Zuko was sailing around the South Pole heading towards the Southern Tribe village, anyway. It's still quite possible that he and Katara would have met anyway, whether Aang had been awoken or not.
And besides, it was actually thanks to Sokka and Fire Lord Sozin, if you think about it.

I'm just saying; if Sozin hadn't decided to assault the Air Temples, Aang never would have run away and ended up in the iceberg. On top of that, if Sokka hadn't ticked off his sister, Katara wouldn't have brought the iceberg out of the ocean. So really, when you get right down to it, we can thank Sozin and Sokka for most (if not all) of what happens in the story.

I've been seeing plenty of your post around everywhere and I have to say you make the avatar fandom look bad and Zutara look even worst. I'm a multishipper so I'm completely neutral to shipping but its seems to me like your butthurt , but hey I could be wrong. Its just that I don't see how someone who completely ships a couple in a show can turn around and insult the show , its characters and its creators. I agree with you on the fact that the 3rd season was rushed and kinda stupid but when I go back and listen to the commentary from the creators Track team and ADR they basically tried to mush in a lot of shipping crap to make all ships happy (including Zutara which I'm sure your familuar with) and that ruined the show. I like avatar and I love Mike and Brians idea of a cartoon show that isn't like the other pointless cartoons out there with no plot and random crap. I also like the fact that it was all animated in South Korean my home country but reading your knitpicky comics for a Y7 show that doesn't really require much thought and wasn't necessarily made for a more mature and adult audience. I enjoy Zutara but I hesitate to partake in anything Zutara related do to the fact that its fans fail to realise that it was a canon FRIEND/ENEMY ship and Mike,Brian, ADR, track Team, and All voice actors ( even if some didn't agree) all said that that zutara was in a eariler thought process but was thrown out due to many holes it would create in the boarding process and that they were going to stick with the Katara Aang romantic relationship. Sorry if you were not satisfied about the ending but don't ruin it for others thats also showing your maturity.

Firelord-Iroh [2009-08-10 03:05:01 +0000 UTC]
So they ended the show in the worst way possible, instead of letting children know about death? I disagree. Almost all children "know" about death; how many can claim someone hasn't passed away in their family? Death is a natural part of life, and is accepted almost universally as inevitable. However, had Aang killed Ozai, that would not just have been a death. It would have been murder, a morally wrong and disturbing action. Not that kids should be sheltered, but having Aang kill Ozai to end the war would send the wrong message about murder and it solving problems.
Aside from the moral dilemma (which there are strong arguments for on both sides) killing Ozai would have been completely out of character for Aang, who had gone through the entire series without resorting to unnecessary violence. If, over the course of the show, he had gradually grown more aggressive (perhaps because of the destruction he witnessed?) it might have been a logical step forward, but as he was in Season 3, it would not work.
Sorry for the long comment but I feel strongly about these issues and I hate how some of the loyal fanbase split off after the finale because of it.

trillean In reply to Firelord-Iroh [2009-08-10 03:24:24 +0000 UTC]
I wouldn't say it was the worst ending possible, but I do believe they could have done it better. The ending didn't bother me because Ozai lived, it bothered me because it just seemed like a cop out. The whole method of it just seemed too hastily done, like they couldn't figure out any other way for Aang to end the battle peacefully so they just threw in some spirit bending to tie everything up. Nothing like that is ever mentioned in all three of the seasons and then suddenly a mystical lionturtle appears and gives Aang this magical solution that solves all of his problems.
Also, it didn't really make sense for them to leave Ozai alive when they clearly killed off Zhao at the end of the first season. You have three whole seasons building up towards this epic battle between good and evil. We are led to believe that Aang must ultimately sacrifice something (Katara or his spiritual beliefs) in order to succeed either by unlocking the Avatar state or killing off Ozai. He has to sacrifice neither, which I think is the problem that some people had. All of the other characters grow so much during the show and Aang just doesn't seem to.
I still love the show, and overall, I thought the finale was great. However, I do have to agree that the ending with Ozai could have been handled much more appropriately according to what the other 2 seasons had led us to believe was coming. I'm not trying to be rude or mean, I'm just trying to offer an explanation as to why the fans seem so divided on this one issue.

Firelord-Iroh In reply to trillean [2009-08-10 21:12:59 +0000 UTC]
Right, well I guess your problem is with the supposed deus ex machina that a lot of people are taking issue with. You do have a point - the lion turtle was a convenient solution. But I like the idea because it fits in with the spirit of the show; sure it wasn't revealed in prior seasons, but I don't think it would've made sense to introduce it unless Aang needed it, and before the finale, he always found guidance from his past lives. As for Zhao, I don't think he was killed in the traditional sense. It was more like he was kidnapped by the spirits as punishment for his crimes against them; Aang didn't have a hand in it.
The Avatar State thing is something I am sure of. Aang did learn to give up Katara - he did so at the end of Season 2, when he saw that there was no alternative. Without giving her up he couldn't have glowed it up at all. But, because he was still inexperienced with the power, he didn't bring it to bear in time before Azula shot and killed him, locking the chakra. The chakra was then unblocked when he hit the wound during the battle with Ozai.
And even if you don't believe my line of reasoning (which, I admit, is convoluted) you can't say it wasn't awesome seeing Aang in his full Avatar State glory at the end of Season 3. Epic.
