Absolutely amazing video - thank you for including the comms too, they really make the video.  There's one thing to see a plane refueling but something else to listen to it.  I love to hear from the moment the aircraft contact the tanker to the moment they disconnect, it really gives the proper ambiance.  I always thought the pilots called in what they needed but in this case they didn't.  Was that because it was done prior to joining formation or just because you were filling until disconnect regardless?

Thanks!  I appreciate that you liked the video.

To answer your question, Yes the 22's call up to us prior to our rendezvous and inform us of the amount of gas they need.  We typically have a scheduled offload days prior but that changes with how much they actually flew/fought before the hook up with the tanker.
In addition, this video was particularly quiet during refueling mostly because I was still new.  I have the ATC radio toggled off (you can still hear some at the beginning very faint in the background) since it's distracting and the pilots can inform me of any changes to pass on to the receivers.  Also, we have an inter-phone system we can use to talk to the pilot who is in contact but I was not using it.  This allows us to talk to them and have casual conversations and the comms aren't transmitted outside the two aircraft.

Excellent!  Well I look forward to seeing some more videos perhaps and the more comms the better

It's amazing what GoPro has done for military videos.

I have an piece that plugs into my Go Pro's mic jack which then connects to my headset and directly into the jet.  Depending on the kind of camera you have (or which Go Pro if you have it, the hero, hero 2, or 3) I found the piece on crazedpilot.com.

loved the video too...it takes forever to fill, I thought it would be much faster. I did miss the jokes about "unleaded please" & "can you please do the windscreen" I guess they would become boring after the 100th time!!
