Description I'm sick of the ignorant claiming that bisexuality and pansexuality are the same thing. Let me clear this up for you:

Bisexuality is the interest of both of the two main gender classifications

Pansexuality is the interest in not only the two main genders, but also those who do not completely fit into one gender(Transexuals, Transgenders, etc)

Pansexuality is real.
It's been around since a little before the 1930s
Deal with it.

Genders/sexes, what ever.

Male and female are the only 2!
Boys and girls are young versions of male and female.
Men and women are the adult versions. (guys and gals, are different term for the adult versions)

0 genders are not an option.

I'm transgender (guy -> girl) and omfg these people who think there are like 72 genders are ruining it and making me get hated even more, and every time I tell someone I'm trans, the fucking assume that I think there are 72 genders and that you can be one by just saying that you're one. Like fucking seriously, what is wrong with these people's heads!?

I apologize but i don't think those definitions are correct. Here is my understanding.

Bisexual: being attracted to people of ANY gender, main or otherwise, but still distinguishing emotional and social traits about them.

Pansexual: essentially viewing gender solely as a physical trait, and not seeing gender in people beyond that.

I don't mean any offense, this is just what i believe as a pansexual.

Shameista [2013-05-18 23:27:54 +0000 UTC]

Er, attraction to males and females is only one definition of bisexual. Others are attraction to two genders, not necessarily male and female, and attraction to the same and different genders. You can't assume you know who the bisexual is attracted to. You have to ask them.

And people even claim Pansexuals are really fetishests,or even zoosexuals and objectumsexuals because somehow we find 'anything attractive'.

So thank you for this :3! So much!

Wow, I clicked on the banner because my curiosity got the best of me into wanting to know what others had to think on the subject and, well, I can't say I was disappointed.

Okay, so ... Before I put out the same spiel I always do when this subject is broached, let me state now that I am a Gay Male who supports everyone's lifestyle. I understand quite well the defining factors of what we all like to call Sexual Orientation and Sexual Identity , mostly those included in the whole GLBT acronym. But I'm not too proud to admit not knowing very much about the remainder of the population out there ... but that's because it can be a confusing mess at times. I know from experiencing because I, myself, have been involved in a triad relationship before but that's a story for another day. I must say it can make you cross-eyed trying to figure out the difference between Gender and Sex, Identity and Orientation, Physical Attraction or Emotional. We can be so many things, yet so many of us wind up being wrapped up with just this one little ribbon. And we are so much more than that. *sigh*

Anywho, here we go ... and this is why I'm glad that Man made Wikipedia.

Pansexual // literally, all sexes // The 'potential' for Sexual attraction/desire and Romantic attraction/love towards all Genders/Sexes <--This is a Physical Attraction. As per definition, Gender and Sex (though all are included and accepted) are the driving force here.

Polysexual // literally, many sexes // The attraction to multiple genders or sexes, though not necessarily all. <-- This is a Physical Attraction. It is based on certain bodily attributes including appearance/demeanor - but not on all Gender/Sexes.

Polyamorous // literally, many loves // the practice, desire, and acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at the same time with the knowledge and consent of all involved. <--This is a Physical Attraction, as any Polyamorist can have their own gender/sex attraction to one person (who would have their own attraction(s)) but still be consenting of the presence of others (who would have their own attraction(s)) in the relationship.

Now that that's all cleared out of the way, do you see what's missing? Panamorous // literally, all love // Why this has never been defined by scholars or explored by doctors is beyond me. The definition on this would be clear: A romantic, emotional attraction to any person regardless of that person's Gender/Sex and regardless if the physical act of sex is involved.

This can be associated with Pansexual People because pansexuality encompasses All Genders/Sexes, right? That is one of the main ways they have to describe themselves, isn't it? But, y'know what, it could describe those who are Asexual as well. Why? Because, on the one hand, there are those Asexuals with whom interest in the act of sex is not present. And, then again, there are those Asexuals who may lack a sexual orientation regardless of Gender/Sex but may have a sexual identity based on Gender/Sex. You see? Either way you look at it, it is the ultimate representation of the statement, "Sex is not important."

And just as there can be a Polyamorous Pansexual - a person who accepts all gender/sex AND who practices multiple simultaneous consenting relationships - there can be a Polyamorous Polysexual - a person who is attracted to multiple gender/sex (but not all) AND who practices multiple simultaneous consenting relationships. Any of the above can be applied to any member of the SGLBTAQ community. (Yes, S stands for the straight folk!) Look at it this way, an Asexual Person can be any combination of these orientations/identities just as can a Transgendered Person or an Androgyne or anyone who is Gender-Queer/Bent/Blind.

The point to all this is there are so many varied lives out there that you gotta ask "Does it really, matter?". The answer is invariably "yes" but still... But yes, I do believe some Pansexuals don't fully understand what that term means and it would seem that's the case the world over. The 'potential' for attraction to all Gender/Sex doesn't mean it's happened yet. I could be wrong. I don't yet know of anyone who has come out and stated that they have had an attraction to and/or relationship with each and every Gender/Sex out there. But I could be wrong. Anyhow, if there are a handful of Pansexuals who don't know the full scope of things, it wouldn't surprise me - because I know there may be just as many people who may claim to be Polyamorist and think that entitles them to sleep with anything that moves.

So, yeah, according to the world's brainiest, it's all gender-based (or biased?) and sex-specific. I really don't think anything can ever be considered "all-inclusive" unless one can look deep down and say they can emotionally connect with all the above regardless of what God gave them, what they want to look like, how they identify, etc, etc. Romantic Love and Physical Attraction are not always one-and-the-same and there's a whole slew of variables that come with both. Just respect and try to understand each other. Don't argue over who's wright or wrong, cuz ain't none got it yet ... including me. And I do apologize for going on like this. I don't think I meant to.
We now return you to your regular scheduled programming.

I'm more intimate than my fellows I love love LOVE women but have found my self to being able to appreciate the appearance of certain dudes. I'm not sure how to describe it really I'm really only attracted to women. but when it comes to stories the species or aperance dosen't really factor in. hence my crush on Marcelline from adventure time. and as for guys well I've never really wanted to do things with men but I'm always sorta touchy-feely I love hugs and stuff like that.

I guess some guys freak out when I want a hug but oh well.

oh well. I guess I would describe my self as gender blind....I don't really know I'm just rambling
